No sound

Game starts fine, but no audio at all. Anyone else had this issue?

I know this is an old thread but just got the game today and I have the no sound issue. Trying the usual things found that on my setup the spatial sound was set to off for my usb headset.

I turned this on by right clicking the sound icon in the hidden icon menu in the taskbar (is that how you have it set) then I had an option for spatial sound (windows sonic for headphones)

set it to Windows soinc for head phones

sound all started working for the game

couldn't get it working through the display port or hdmi but very happy with the headset working as this is how I play most of my games

Sorry just to update found after making this change it now working through my HDMI and Display port as well now bouns.

There was no sound when I started the game. I checked the sound settings in the game and they were turned down to zero. Turned them up and instant sound! Weird that they were set at zero from the get go.... Oh, well. It works now!

+1 for this fix. It had played fine through my speakers, then after playing with my USB headphones, it would only play on those and not on my regular speakers.

When launching without the headphones, it would also skip the Sega and Platinum splash screens and go straight to the CriWare one. Setting the spatial sound resolved that as well.

I'm not sure if someone has answered with this already, but in full screen, this game's audio does not work through HDMI cables. To fix this, open the game and go to options>graphics>display mode, and set it to "borderless", then apply the change and restart your game. I'm using a laptop connected to a TV through an HDMI cable and this fixed the issue for me.

Ok I know this post is old, but I may have found a fix that no one else has mentioned.

I was getting no audio and weirdly no Sega intro through USB dualshock 4 with headphones attached, hdmi to 4k TV. I went into the headset settings in audio in control panel, device properties, advanced, and then changed the format to the one that says FM Radio Quality.

For some reason that fixed it for me, I even switched it back to confirm. I haven't noticed a change in audio quality btw. It's super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird but whatever, I hope this helps someone in the future!

I know it's two years later but I just bought this game and setting Sonic sound worked! Thanks!

The game doesn't have sound for me when playing with a dualshock controller. Without it, no problems. Wish there was a way to have sound while playing with a controller.

don't know if its a weird coincidence, but scince then i don't have problems with the sound, although the game seems to minimize itself random.

This worked for me.

Do u mean running the game in window mode?
Or running the Steam App in Big Picture Mode?

Thanks! This worked for me, but only AFTER a restart, and the game didn't inform me I would need a restart for it to take effect. (just letting people know in case like me they consider giving up before restarting)

old thread I know but giving update for 2024, no sound through steam launch, nothing worked. Spacial sound did work but I couldn't get it to switch from the bottom right tool bar. I had to right click on sound icon, click sounds, right click headphone using, properties, spacial sound and set to Windows sonic for headphones and sound started working after that.
