The key is to taunt them a lot to fill your magic. If you still can't beat it then simply equip the Gaze of Despair accessory and scarborough fair (hand and feet, or hands at least). Just hold L1 to keep taunting to get magic and wait for an attack and get witch time from it, do a PPPPKK combo or something similar, and you will get a lot of magic. If you don't want to use Gaze of Despair then just taunt and dodge a lot to fill your bar as usual.
And no, nothing you get later in the game will make this easier since you don't want to deal too much damage to them. So it's actually harder to do with stronger weapons. That being said, with scarborough fair and gaze you can get your 5 torture attacks (I think it's 5?) after the first two waves, so you can take of the gaze for Grace and Gory and Fairness and Fearless.
For easy burst damage after finishing torture attack, just wear shuraba (sword) and use PKP combo to finish those Grace & Glory and Fairness & Fearless
There is absolutely no reason not to wear Gaze of Despair. On normal and hard it doesn't matter at all how aggressive the enemy is because you can just initiate witch time and build up your magic, then get out before the enemy can even attack at all. If he struggles with this challenge it's simply the most effective way to make it easier.
As for building up magic, PPPPKK combo isn't very good. PPPPPP is much better. I only suggested PPPPKK because if you use Gaze of Despair you will get tons of magic anyway and PPPPKK deals more damage.
I'm suprised nobody has suggested the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa accessory, though. Every blocked attack earns you one magic orb, so an aggressive enemy will fill your bar in no time.
Also important to remember is that a torture attack only counts if it kills the enemy! So make sure you've done a good bit of damage to those more powerful angels first.
Lol, that accessory is only effective if you're good enough with timing.
Even dodging an enemy can be challenging for some player.
Sure its effective, but not possible for all player.
I got 5 TAs on the first and second phases (Affinities & flying jellyfish things), and proceeded to wipe out G&G/F&F with PKP with Shubara. FINALLY!
Once you get comfortable with the charge properties experiment with dodging in the middle of doing combos. You will find that if you dodge with the attack button held the combo carries over after the dodge. This way you will stop dropping combos, which will amplify your damage output even more since combo finishers are very powerful in bayo.
This may not be obvious to a new player, but holding down the attack buttons in bayonetta is a game changer. There are alfheim portals that give you limited amount of kicks and punches to work with, their sole purpose is making sure you are using the charge properties of your weapons.
I assume this is on hard? Sounds as though it must be as joy's aren't in that normal mode alfheim I don't think. If you've done the seven attacks already and are just running out of time use the Durgas instead. The final skull bomb thing in a charged combo does a serious amount of damage.
I accumulated enough halos to get the climax bracelet through the cheat & I used it along with the bracelet of time to get in a load of hits on the joys which I went back for purely for revenge & my god was it REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SWEET!
