Hex Grasslands Hidden Treasure progress resets constantly from 4 back to 7.
It keeps jumping from 4 to 7, and back again, never reaching 0.
Could someone please tell me how I'm supposed to sneak up on 8 enemies and get this treasuree to spawn if literally it never correctly counts down after 4?
This is kind of a big issue, and I really want to know why it ever happened in the first place.

I'm sneaking behind, no one sees me, nothing, it just instantly resets to 7 after I get down to 4.
Doesn't matter what I do.
Same enemies, different enemies, anything, left, right. Up, Down, Start, Select, A, B, A, B. :P

I wasted 30+ minutes trying to do this, with the progress constantly resetting.
So, please tell me the reward here is completely useless, and how people can evert get that award.
Hell, if there's videos on youtube of someone getting this hidden treasure, let me know.
But it's not like monsters can see me when I'm behind them, except the robots.

Getting spotted resets it.
Attack and not hitting anything resets it.
It's stupid.

I think you can symbol attack, not kill & run away, and then immediately symbol attack the same enemy again to count numbers.

Really? Missing resets it? THat's beyond stupid.
I know getting spotted makes it reset.

But forcing completely perfect timing all the time? UGH.
And that really doesn't explain why it always resets to 7 left...from 4.
I've missed before, and I swear it didn't count.
No one is that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect.

I mean, WTF, how do I constantly fail to hit at exactly 4 left even? THat's impossible timing!
No one has that good bad luck. :P

Also, what's the treasure, because no way in hell am I trying this again for anyhting short of an item that only shows up there and no where else in the game.

The hidden treasure is a gold disc. You are also aware that I listed ALL the Hidden Treasures, right?

Oh, and getting the White Orb makes these treasure requirements easier or you camp near a save point to make the process simpler.

How would I have known that you listed all the treasure? Seriously? How? I have a lot of skills, but I assure you, Omniscience is not one of them. :)

And is the Gold Disc really worth this much trouble? I don't think so.

Where is the White Orb, and why exactly does it make things eaiser?
And how does camp near a save point make it easier?

i have not started new game plus, but from what i heard the white orb is a flag item that makes all enemys non hostile, you have to walk into them or symbol attack them to start combat.

just camp the save point and load if you screw up thats what i did.

Ah. Okay. Fair enough. Sorry, sometimes the easiest things slip by me.
The odds of me completing this again on New Game + is fairly slim.

The White Orb does sound amazingly helpful.

Fun fact: saving the game also saves progress on hidden treasure requirements. So if you have to do something absurd like twelve symbol attacks in a row you can just save and reload if you're having trouble.

You also don't have to kill the enemy you attack. You can run away. I grinded out most of these symbol attack requirements by stealing/running every fight and then saving every couple of attacks to make sure I didn't flub it.

You ... can ... save scum them?

(...) :: twitches ::

That's a lot of wasted effort on my end then. Damn.

Well; I guess the good news is the other instances of this crazy treasure challenge are going to be a whole lot easier now...

Check the guides section? It only takes the godlike power of all-searching.

Unluckycat, this thread has been dead for nearly 2 months before someone thought it would be a good idea to resurrect it for no reason.

Yes, there was a guide, but I also don't need to know the details of what the item was.
