How much extra damage does a combo trait add to an attack?
I've just been wondering at what point raw power can beat out a critical.

For example, I have an attack that has 160 power with no combo trait and another that has 150 power + a combo trait that will always activate, which would I be better using? Are there situations where a critical rush attack is more powerful than a standard or a critical standard better than a power?

Not as important, but also wondering if the amount of exe gain is purely down to combo amount an nothing else? Like, do a 3 hit rush, 3 hit power and 3 hit standard all have the same exe gain?

Thanks.

well here a trick, just forget about those, if you get one that nice, but its not worth it to focus on those, as for me i only focus on the number of hit, i almost only use rush attack,.... well i use other too but just for a change in animation,

at first i was focusing on those, but found out that i was doing less damage tring to get combo trait, you can play that way if you want, but i just think its not worth the trouble, and you will get at a point where you will kill all the stuff even if you do your attack in any order or type, i play with a gamepad, and some time i just pres a random order of A, X, Y button,

Using combo trait is generally better. The auto crits also come with the added benfit of never missing. You might lose out on some damage if it's all rush attacks vs all power, but rarely if it is a mix.

EXE gain depends on number of hits. The type of hit doesn't matter, but rush attacks usually have a lot more.

Ah, thanks. If that's the case it feels like a lot of the moves are pretty useless, always unlocking new ones that do a few points of damage more but no combo trait.

Well combo trait depends on your weapon, so those moves might be useful later on. You also have to consider elements, magic/physical damage and points costs.
Don't force yourself into a poor combo trait string if you don't have to. Some characters just simply have ♥♥♥♥ combos. (cough nitro+ cough). Those characters usually make up for it with a good luck stat for luck based crits. Other characters however have combo strings that flow extreamly smoothly. Noire is a good example of someone with easy flowing combo strings that are easy to set up for even a 5 chain. Good thing too, her luck stat is utterly garbage. Probibly because neptune stole it all after landing on her. nepgear too, her luck stat use to be questionable in previous games but is ok now.
