best use of cookies?

I was thinking in general as a free player (trying to just to see just how difficult it is) the x64 boost is what you want to save for. but you also get enough loose cookies to upgrade 1-2 hoobies/jobs. whats everyone's else strategies.

I am thinking my first loose bits going to x5ing the paranormal job for some faster early cash and maybe if I get a second loose amount upgrading the potion brewing hobby considering it'll become available so late into the event it could be hard to upgrade it to the level the event wants otherwise.

i think maybe after reaching 9/20 (about 4 hours play maybe?) progress u definitely manage to buy x8 with 50 and then u can progress faster and buy another x8 with 50 so total 8x8=x64 max purchased at shop ?

Without spending money, what's your best course of action? I've already got the first 2x speed boost. I'm sitting on 25 Cookies now.

does it actually work that way though? its a x8 boost I didn't think it would be multiplicative? I thought it's x8 + x8 for x16? I ask cause I genuinely do not know.

It's Multiplicative, So your best bet is save up the cookies, and once you get the 50 cookies, get the x8 multiplier and you'll have x16... should be enough to boost you until you get the x4 later in the milestones for that x64. I'm not sure what to have active when I activate the time skip reward. Anyone have a suggestion for that first one? I feel like Craftmanship should definitely be active.

so you'd mean more buy the x8, then the x2 to reach x16. then get the x4 from milestones correct?

You get a x2 early on in the Goals. By the time you get to the 30 Cookies, you'll have about 20ish from ranking up with the girls, meaning you can buy the x8 out of the shop, putting you at 16. The x4 later in the goals would put you at x64.

weird. I am 9/20 milestones so I've clearly picked up the x2. yet if I look at the shop after purchasing the x8 it still says I am x8. and yes I did claim it from the goals so its definitely active.

There's two slots. Purchased Boosts, and Goal Boosts.

yeah that was and wasn't the issue, I had not closed the game since the event began so my info was not updating correctly, I thought it might be that so I reopened the game now my boost is displayed correctly.

I just spent some Diamonds and bought the 64X speed boost and 20 time slots and completed the event within a couple of hours, although admittedly I ended with something like 30 spare time slots (even with all jobs and hobbies activated) and 40 Cookies, even though I'd also purchased 3-4 12X Time Skips along the way to level up several hobbies faster and get a quick income boost (especially since the final gift requires you to purchase a Pumpkin).

Sounds accurate. I just completed the event myself and ended in a similar situation. 38 time blocks (after levelling the hobbies to 75) and 132 cookies (because I purchased the 60cks bundle a few times) left to spare.

I didn't prestige any of the jobs or hobbies. I bought the multipliers (one 64x) and used a few 12h time skips (I don't recall the exact amount, maybe seven at most) and I can't recall now if I bought any time blocks, but judging by the amount I was left with, I'm pretty sure people can come up with better strategies.

And if you'll have to spend any real money on the events, recommend the 16USD diamonds bundle, because I spent 225 diamonds purchasing the 60cks bundle.

In the tutorial, Q-Piddy says:

Make sure you spend your Cookies while you can! Since Cookies can’t travel between universes, you won’t be able to keep them once the Spooky Event ends.

I interpret that as a no, so I would not recommend spending diamonds on cookies that you don't actively need.
