I'm pretty sure I never advocated censorship, only that if the developer/producing company decides to do it then tough tits.
You gotta remember that outside of people who are going to buy the game *because they are that niche*, a company depends on reviews and word of mouth to sell a game...what's more valuable to the company? Possibly satisfying the extremely small niche market that exists outside of their regular region, or cutting a bit of the weirder content and accessing a larger niche?
"Dating Sim" is practically a dirty word outside of Japan.
It's a dirty word to people who dont buy these games, who cares?
and these people arent going to flock to buy the game just cause they remove some content that's "discomforting" especially in a game like criminal girls.
If those larger niche is discomforted with those 'content', then I am discomforted with 'censorship'. It offends me.
Not long ago, a friend of my friend is arrested (and deny the right for lawer and outside communication) because he is critizing the government on FB without authorization.
And no media give a ♥♥♥♥ because they are not allow to talk about gov-related news. (unless 'authorized' and 'approved' first.)
It's like you are watching The Walking Dead, but all scene where zombie is 'killed' are deleted from the movie. (Yeah, removing those scene impact nothing to the storyline, so who would care if it mean we can brand it as T rate show?)
The censorship in Mugen Souls is not "used for laughs" it's straight up censorship.
Yes, that game you're paying money for? You need to reconsider your priorities if you have a problem with it being censored. /s
Personally when I hear "Japanese voices removed, scenes unvoiced in English" I'm already put off, but usually put up with it since I understand there's always costs involved, but if it's a conscious effort to intentionally deny customers something they might want, which is the case for Criminal Girls, then I'm not so complacent.
