1920*1080 @60 fps?

Is there any way to set a real 1920*1080 resolution and 60 fps?

Currently the game seemes to be locked at 30 fps,
and even though 1920*1080px res is present in the options, it is acttually a horizontally stretched 4:3 resolution, which looks horrific, and you can't see anything because it is very zoomed-in.
Actually the higher you set the widescreen resolution, the less FoV you get.

I heard that original DoW had a proper support for widescreen resolutions up to the patch 1.3 (patch 1.4 and later apparently removed it)

The highest resolution I found which does not horizontally stretch the UI and does not zoom in is 1280*1024...

i am playing on 42 inch and just did all res 1280 1024 and up and all seem to be zoomed in for what i remember but was years ago when i played these

i just tryed game of the year adition and it only goes up to 1280 1024 res and 30 hz so i think maybe they ment to take otyher options out and forgot lol

Probably...

I am more surprised that they haven't released an update - games like Stronghold or Age of Empires both have updates that allow to play them in high res.

uhm, i play in a perfectly fine 1920 1080 resolution at 144 hz. Nothing is stretched. Launch the GraphicsConfig.exe in your dark crusade directory and configure there. Also download this mod http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Camera_Zoom;34682x#819584 kind of an essential, i never play without it.

To my knowledge there are no monitors that run on 144Hz, at least not any ones I heard of.
Can you post a screenshot of how your game and UI look like?
And I already said that the game is locked at 30 fps by default and there are no settings to change that, so how did you unlock it?

I too would like to know how to get rid of the annoying 30fps cap. I've fiddled with settings and resolutions and can't raise the cap, and my machine is decent, especially for an older game like this.

Works fine above 30fps.??? I play wqhd (1440p) and record most games at 60

I play Dark Crusade in 1920x1080 at 60fps.
You just need to edit the "local" file at the game folder

Open the file "local.ini" in any text editor. The file is located in the root location of DoWDC. Change the setting for "screenheight=" and "screenwidth=" to whatever resolution you desire. Set "vsync=" to "0" to unlock the refresh rate.
