opinion: Easiest and Hardest Races to play as in the campaign
Who do you think is the easiest and hardest race to play as in the campaign?

For me, the Necrons are the easiest to play by-far. I have trhe most difficult time playing Chaos.

The Necron race only has one resource to keep track of, it's main line unit costs no resources (other than time) to field, and the end-stage unit (the Restored Monolith) is awesome. The Necron leader is powerful right at the start of the game, and can be equipped with customisable powers each fight.

The Chaos race is a bit confusing to play (for me at least) and takes a bit of finesse to win with. In the right hands, it can be extremely hard to beat, but for a beginner, it is not easy.

I'm doing a Chaos run rigth now, my advice, melee. Always melee, they are a close quarter race. Chaos Space Marine are way dangerous on melee than at a distance. This means too that you are gonna have a bad time with the Tau. The Tau stronghold was a nigthmare for me, usually is quite a drag, but with chaos was stresfull.

I completed the campaign on hard as eldar, I didnt understand reinforcements at that time so that made things more interesting. Im currently playing again as the Imperial Guard. Space marines are fun but I havent spent a lot of time playing as them.

i havent done eldar yet but ive done the rest. imperial guard is the easily the worst. im assuming eldar isnt as bs as imperial gaurd.

imperial guard is unwinnable with out mechanical units. the flip side of it means its basically gg once you get artillery as the player anyways.

necrons is the easiest. necrons will break your ablity to understand how things work for the others if you dont keep it in mind that necrons is just easier.

if you have trouble with necrons you have income problems or you didnt spend enough time sending units to their death. their basic unit is the best basic unit in the game and makes most of it winable before its necessary for better units.

oh yea Imperial Guard absolutely is a mechanical army. I dont even bother with guardsman other than capturing strategic points. I use heavy weapons teams mostly. For mechanical units i get my 3 heavy artillary, put them somewhere safe, assign hot keys, and frequently pound buildings. hitting moving troops is tougher.

Easiest maybe Space Marines? they're baby's first race and abnormally balanced in this game compared to every other DW1 allowing you to kill everyone at tier 2 and if they are still alive then you drop dreadnoughts and terminators on their heads.

Hardest is IG but it is also the most rewarding when you see your efforts being rewarded after a hard-fought battle and you have some of the best vehicles in the game as well.

Just finished playing my 4th campaign as Chaos and it was a pain. The reason why it as the hardest is because they don't really benefit much from the map bonuses and there tech tree really works against them in strongholds as a longer wait for plasma guns on your marines in t3 is too much. The limited vehicle roaster nearly makes the pop cap bonus useless in that regard too as they suffer from the standard '2 limit' heavy tank restriction which is at t2 for this race. Also the final wargear upgrade for a permanent deamon prince sounds crazy in theory but end up being rather lackluster. The whole feel for the faction in the campaign is rather...meh

Imperial Guard takes a while to really get stronk in a battle. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ guard squads, bless their hearts, seem to always get their asses kicked by the commander unit of whoever they're fighting. But half an hour in...oh my emperor
