1) Go to: steamapps/common/Dawn of War Dark Crusade/Profiles
(If there is no folder titled "Profiles" then create it)
2) Create a folder in "Profiles" named: Profile1
3) Open notepad and type in your profile name (this could be your steam username, or whatever you want)
4) Click File then Save as, and then put "name" as the filename of the file, save it in "Profile1", BUT you must save it as a .dat file, and not the regular .txt format. If you don't know how to do that, when you press "Save as" there is a box under where you entered the filename that is titled "Save as type:" click on the drop down menu of that box and select "All Files", then type ".dat" after "name", so your filename should be "name.dat", after that press save.
I hope this isn't too confusing and that it helps.
Last night I played Solitaire until I fell asleep. I haven't gotten deep into Solitaire since the late nineties.
Mine was here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dawn of War Dark Crusade\Profiles\
1. Create a folder named profile1 and go inside it.
2. Create a folder named dxp2 and go inside it.
3. Create a folder named multiplayer and go inside
4. Create a folder named savegames then back out to the profile1\ folder
5. Create a text file named name.dat and edit it with the user name you want. Save it.
6. Create a text file named playercfg.txt and edit it with the following text:
Controls =
{
invertDeclination = 0,
invertPan = 1,
scrollRate = 1,
}
CustomScarVars =
{
hasPlayedTutorial = "",
}
Graphics =
{
ShinyObjects = true,
}
Sound =
{
VolumeAmbient = 0.75000,
VolumeMusic = 0.75000,
VolumeSfx = 0.75000,
VolumeVoice = 0.75000,
}
Tutorial_dxp2 =
{
HasClickedCampaign = true,
HasPlayedTutorial = true,
}
W40k =
{
attack_move_default = 0,
event_cue_toggle_critical = 1,
event_cue_toggle_non_critical = 1,
help_text_level = 2,
persistent_selection = 1,
response_sound = 1,
}
player_preferences =
{
campaign_played_disorder = false,
campaign_played_order = false,
force_name = "Bork'an",
race = "tau_race",
}
You can change anything you want at your own risk.
7. Create a file named teststats.lua and put the following text into it:
GSGameStats =
{
Players = 2,
WinBy = "",
Teams = 2,
player_0 =
{
PRace = "guard_race",
PHuman = 0,
PFnlState = 1,
PTeam = 1,
PName = "Computer 1",
PTtlSc = 120,
},
player_1 =
{
PRace = "tau_race",
PHuman = 1,
PFnlState = 1,
PTeam = 0,
PName = "PorkFat",
PTtlSc = 436,
},
Duration = 201,
Scenario = "2P_FALLEN_CITY",
}
Change anything at your own risk.
Start the game and the profile should be there to start a game with. Do the same with profile2\ profile3\ etc.
This just worked for me exactly
EDIT- I can launch the campaign by being very careful with cursor placement, but there is a perpetual dead spot in the game, which prevents me from selecting certain pieces of wargear, placing buildings on the map, or giving orders to a certain area. Any advice on how to remedy this?
Did you ever find a solution?
edit: and there is no way to skip the intro movies
edit #2: and I have to reset the resolution every time
edit #3: and loading a campaign crashes the game
