i'd really like to pick this title up but the offline split screen is going to be the deal breaker here. i have no interest in playing online. only interested in getting drunk and destroying my roomate...

No, no split screen. That would be really weird. Normal local player vs player games are supported.

Fighting games don't have split screen, but it does however have local multiplayer. You know, with both of you on the same screen, fighting each other.

I remember there were the Dragon Ball Z fighting games on the SNES that had the screen split in the middle because the characters were often far apart, or one on the ground one in the air! A whole different story ;)

Fighting games are that magical genre that require NO split screen and yet are built for local coop. It's like fighting games and Worms, and those are your options, haha.

You can connect up to four (just like xbox360). But on PC if you want to use wireless models (if you have wired ones just plug it in and you're good to go), you'll need wireless tranceiver that comes with "Wireles controller for windows"

What did you think? You needed a split screen for a game where 2 characters stand in front of eachother and fight? Like really?
