Arcade Seth is BS
While i do think Seth is a high level charcter playing against him in Arcade at hardest setting is just too hard, he should not get a free command grab when I start up Sakura Ex Shoryu, She has so much invincibility frames that the grab should have been ignored, and the CPU speed and damage scaling was so much better than the real Seth, along with the impossible combos it did are just outrages.

Seth in general is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass. He's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid ass character and I can't stand him. On the topic Seth on the hardest setting is super tough. I usually find doing a focus attack and charging it all the way can usually get him if you knock him down. Keep him to about a medium distance and wait for an opening.

arcade mode seth does not do impossible stuff. he cannot just command grab you out of the invincible EX shoryuken. he also cannot do combos that usually do not work. I think the only 2 things that are adjusted are his higher stamina and maybe more damaging combos?

anyway if you cannot beat him I suggest you go with easy tactics against him: if I recall correctly then you can just keep doing safejumps on him and he'll always try to do a shoryuken.so for example you can do this (with ryu): hit seth with a sweep (crouching hard kick) then immediately jump at him with (for example) hard kick + hold back while you do so. this is a setup with ryu against arcade mode seth to guarantee that he does a shoryuken that you can always block: punish him with a combo that leads into another sweep and continue.

so the easiest way to kill seth is to just sweep + safejump him to death because he'll always do a uppercut that you will be able to block. maybe they fixed that but if I recall correctly you could at least do this in SSFIV. good luck!

I feel your pain, ZDH!!! I'm surprised your Sakura struggled against him (after you beat the crap out of me earlier in the morning with her)!

Here's what I did: I was using Fei Long and Seth was beating the crap out of me (something like 6-8 matches) and DID NOT USE SPECIAL MOVES AT ALL. The only thing I did that managed to work against him were jumping/standing/crouching Hard punch and kicks. Seth knows how to counter special moves, so trying to combo him is pointless. I just jumped around hitting him with jumping Hard punch/kick, standing Hard kick and a sweep here and there...nearly got a perfect first round out of him!!!!!! I was shocked that the fight went so well.

IF you want to use special moves, ONLY use EX moves because they are faster and tend to give you more recovery. Just stay out of the corner and you'll be fine.

seth is already bs when a player uses him, but the cpu which can read your moves (literally) and do the exact perfect technique to respond with 1 ms delay... yeah... now you know why this is an arcade game, u're supposed to lose.
Next I'll be bombarded with "well, I beat him, explain that". The algorithm that seth follows is designed to make him do a certain percentage of mistakes so that the player has a "chance" to fight back/win whatever. Hope I stopped the saltshakers beforehand this time.

There has to be a little sprinkle of BS every now and then...

It's better than it was, trust me. Back in the day of SF2 Turbo on the SNES on max difficulty Guile used to do double sonic booms every now and then. Just often enough to allow face to joypad action.

Yup, he has incredible response time, he can even counter a light punch with ultra or DP. Also teleports all the time with ridiculous recovery time.

BTW ALL the arcade bosses (Seth, Evil Ryu, Akuma/Gouki, Gouken, Oni) are bullshitting every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. E.g. I saw in a YT vid that hardest Gouken boss can charge multiple fireballs at the same time and can fire them at teh same time.

again, the bosses in SSFIV: AE CANNOT do stuff that isn't possible. please show me a video of what you're talking about. gouken cannot do that stuff (as far as I know).

maybe not but its close to impossible, its like he moves in a split second, grabs you the instant you land or in the middle of a combo if the timing wasnt flawless.
seth really ticks me off as well I`m stuck on medium-hard right now, just cant beat him
Artifex Jul 6, 2013 @ 11:52am
just pick a char with loads of health like bison or gief and spam heavy normals. on one retry youre bound to succeed. at leasdt the ones with loads of health are more likely to succeed as they won't die in 1 combo. you can have a chance to fight back

I posted an explanation above how to abuse the fact that he's a CPU...seth is pretty flawed and you can take advantage of this.

i beat him on hard just now, didnt want to use cheap tacitcs, but i got really pissed at him

To be fair, hes got a basic routine over the 3 rounds, like round 1, his first attack 90% of the time is a low heavy, once you learn the routine or his pattern, hes easy

Seth has ridiclous teleport, its recovery is really fast
Akuma can use EX zanku hadoken (in-air fireball) without using a single bar, I also know his RD travels faster and have full invincibility
Gouken and Oni have instantly charged up fireballs

Thats all I remember ATM but they have more plus benefits, I am pretty sure every other benefit is listed on SF wiki (streetfighter.wikia.com)

1. seth always had a good teleport...nothing special about it in arcade mode.
2. I would love to see video proof of what you're saying about akuma/gouken/oni because I never noticed that before and I can't find any information about this online.

ok ok lets just agree that seth is regularly broken anyway, regardless of arcade mode or not. :) *SMILE*
