First, try setting your attacks on a Num-pad, then set your movement buttons on WASD. To make a hadouken press S D and punch button. If you want to make an Ultra (Metsu) Hadoken, you have to press S D, S D and all 3 punch buttons at the same time. You can also set your 3 punch attacks on one button, it will make your ultra way more comfortable to perform. Don't forget to wait a bit after pressing S D, or your ultra won't work, you'll make shoryouken instead. Actually, you'd better buy a gamepad))) Keyboard is good for "charging" characters like Bison, Chun-Li, Guile...

you can record macros on keyboard too, this why keyboard is superior to pads sometimes :\

Macros would feel like cheating, though. I wouldn't recommend it.

Just say no to WASD, this isn't a first person shooter.

The best method for character movement is ASD[SPACEBAR]

From the keyboards I've tested (Microsoft Laser Keyboard 5000 and simple Laptop keyboard), QWD[SPACEBAR] and QSD[SPACEBAR] seem to perform the best. Also setting all buttons at numpad, if possible. The furthest you can from the directionals.

It seems to avoid keyboard ghosting (the fact you can't press certain keys together because of how the keyboard is layered) quite well.

A semi-circular config also makes your hand fit in nicely and is even used in the Hitbox arcade pad, but ghosting would be my #1 reason to recommend this one.

WSAD is fine for shotos, though.
