Braindead characters??

who do you think are the most braindead characters? and you can't just say blanka or el fuerte because you dont know the match up. im talking about characters that are basically autopilot that take very little skill or thinking to get good with. my votes are Ken, Ryu, Elena, Sakura, Rose, Gief, Adon, Yun and Rolento. I play with some of these characters myself and it took little to no effort to pull off amazing feats. who do you think are the most braindead in terms of playstyles/execution/BS?

btw I do hate playing Fuertes and Blankas online but offline is a different story.

turtling is a scrub tactic IMO. i saw someone mention something about tekken or marvel that says you "mindlessly rushdown"... theres a lot more to the "mindless" rushdown than you think. i personally rush down with charge characters a lot because turtling is boring as ♥♥♥♥. you cant act high and mighty about playstyles if you could only play a game based on match ups. its all about match ups in usf4 more than anything else. in SF33s, a game with numerous bad match ups and GOD TIER chun li... if you were better than the person you played against, the match up was non existent because your skill spoke above tiers and match ups. but of course someone will try to retort that last statement but i dont care... most of you guys started playing FG's because of sf4 so anything said against sf4 is automatically a sin.

anyways, this thread was meant for opinions. not to attack each other. btw cammy is pretty braindead lol i played with her only a few times and could pull out damaging mix ups and combos better than my friend who mains her (mind you, he is better than me). also, when i say brain dead.... i mean brain dead in your opinion, your terms. try not to attack each other again please. lets be peaceful. OR we could settle things in a 1st to 5 :D

Ich habe mit keiner Silbe erwähnt, das ich mein Versagen auf einen dieser Charaktere münze und das weist du auch. Ich spiele weiterhin meinen Charakter weil ich es möchte. Wenn mich Vortex so sehr wurmen würde, dann hätte ich ja wohl längst gewechselt.

Weist du was dein Problem ist Cipher? Deine Charakterliebe, so sehr ich diese auch respektiere, ist vielmehr schon ein Wahn. Du bist gestört. Du kannst nicht normal und sachlich hinnehmen, dass ich die obigen 3 Charaktere für ziemlich braindead halte und fertig. Mehr ist es doch einfach nicht. Habe ich gesagt, dass die Charaktere deshalb scheiße sind und sie keiner mehr spielen sollte?! Nein und das sollte ich auch nicht extra erwähnen müssen. Du hast einfach keine Ahnung, du meinst also ich habe noch nie Akuma, Ibuki oder Cammy gespielt?! Nach 6 Jahren SF4 soll keinen der Charaktere gespielt haben. Das glaubst du ja wohl selber nicht, oder?!

Ich weis auch nicht inwiefern ich als Proll rüberkomme, anscheinend hast auch nur du ein Problem mit meiner Ausdrucksweise und weist du warum?! Schau mal paar Zeilen weiter oben. Niemand ausser dir schiebt so einen Hass auf mich wie du. Wundert dich das nicht?! Ich kann mich noch sehr gut an eine Unterhaltung im Gruppen-Chat erinnern, wo ich einfach versucht hatte dir ein paar Tipps zu geben, aber die wolltest DU nicht hören. Denn "es hat ja keinen Sinn zu üben", so hast du es damals hingestellt.Wage es also nicht meine Hilfsbreitschaft anzuzweifeln. Denn letztendlich hat es einfach nur damit etwas zu tun, dass DU ein Problem mit mir hast

Lass mich und meine Meinung einfach in Ruhe. Du nervst mich einfach mit deiner beschissenen Art und Einstellung einfach nicht normal argumentieren zu können. Das ganze hier war einfach nur der Tropfen, der das Fass zum Überlaufen gebracht hat.

Ich geh auch nicht weiter in diese dämliche Shoto Diskussion mit dir ein oder werde da noch groß um Cammy/Decapre diskutieren.

Any ways its all opinions, and I guess people are gonna say XX characters are braindead because either I dont like the playstyle or I have a hard time playing them, but I dont agree that ibuki can ignore opponents options, she just has a lot of option setups to adapt to your options.

I feel zoning, charge characters and some shotos are brain dead, like chun or any character with a low skill floor to be braindead. when a high level player does the exact thing any online player would do ie: ken/momochi, you know that character is braindead.

I mentioned Tekken, Marvel and Arc System Fighers, because they highly reward aggressive and offensive play styles like rushdown. SF 4 does not reward all out rush down as much as the other games mentioned.

It's cool if you think turtling is scrubby but it is part of this game and it works. Yeah tiers and match ups are there for a legitimate reason however many times characters dropped or have risen in ranks because there was someone who showed the world how this good/bad character actually works. Gen has risen in tiers because Xian showed how he works. E.Ryu has risen in tiers because Sakonoko showed what he is capable of. Same with Rose and Cammy. All those characters haven't been high up on the spot until they got fully explored.

I think with Ultra the balance is really good making the roster quite diverse when it comes to viability. Pepeday and El Fuerte shine, Smug and Dudley get some spotlight. Ken is back in action. Louffy shows what Rose is capable of. It's not just Sagat, Akuma and what not in the top tens anymore which is great.

So yeah it's not as harsh with the tiers and match ups as it was in 3S.

I gave my opinion and that's that no harm done really, it's just a unneeded dispute which I hope is settled now.

Isn't her plethora of option not exactly like shutting down/ignoring the opponents option? Real question here. That's at least how I feel about it.

Cammys AE2012 Version war braindead, die Rolle hat jetzt Ibuki übernommen. Aber Akuma ist was Anderes, da du ihn mit DWU so leicht ausm Konzept bringen kannst und seine ganze Vortex auf harten Knockdowns und nen bestimmten Timing basiert. Ibuki kann ihr Kunai werfen und im schlimmsten Fall wirds unblockabel.

Und um ehrlich zu sein, ich hab auch kein Bock jetzt weiter zu diskutieren. Das führt zu nix, ausser kaputten Spielzeug.

Da du mir bereits alles an den Kopf geknallt hast, was dir wohl grade so im Magen rumflog, schlag ich vor wir schliessen Frieden. Und bitte, hör auf auf meiner Rechtschreibung rumzureiten, ich weiss das die Müll ist.

Come on yo, I'd say (Ultra) Yun is overpowered a little, but he's definitely not braindead type.

Rolento and Elena.. I lose to these two a lot, but its just me, lacking matchup experience.
Rolento has weird hitboxes, and some of his moves are just hard to block, not like he's unbeatable and stuff. So is Elena, again, a char you don't see often online, she's weird too, but not braindead.

cody is annoying but my friend mains cody so i know that match up pretty well so i cant say too much about it lol.

rolento and elena... only reason i said those two is because they are pretty easy to use and easy to spam special moves for mix ups and block strings. i used to see a lot of elena online until the patch... now shes rarely picked... maybe it had something to do with her hurtbox being fixed or something... i dont care much to read the patch notes on characters i dislike (shes so much better in 3S). and rolento... main reason i say hes braindead is because i rarely play the with him... but i can wreck my friends with him (mind you, they are better than me) offline. you can spam his roll attacks and mix ups on a retarded level IMO.

on a side note: can you guys refrain from flipping on each other? this is just an opinion based thread. everybody has personal tastes towards their preferences obviously... just respect it a little. or like i said, play each other in a 1st to 5 if you feel so strongly about that persons opinions. i'd like to watch and maybe get in on the fighting too :D

We're not talking about matchup knowledge and how easy 1f links are.. We're talking about braindead characters.. Adon is pretty braindead, every stupid Adon I met had a minimum 5k bp tells a lot.. jaguar kick, rising jaguar all day .. got punished? No problem! Jaguar kick, Jaguar kick, again... close? Rising Jaguar.. ultra... seriously, this char requires minimum effort, no skill at all to win with. Mash dp one direction if you're away, and if you're close mash dp the opposite one...so stupid. the definition of braindead.

Or T.Hawk - Churn butter all day like its nobody's business ... Condor spire, spd, condor buster->condor dive, condor spire, condor dive, u1 = win. All C+ plays him like that.. yes its 6-4 in my favor, but ....man, the amount of stupid #yolo crap on screen is so annoying; I hate this char

We can do a 1st to 5 for fun if you desire. I think we have settled our score here on good terms. So yeah. Back to topic.

To get back on topic, I'm not sure that I would call the character "brain dead" but I've never liked Elf. The character doesn't seem to have a lot of substance. The matches always seem to be very one dimensional, the same 50 / 50 routine repeated for most of the match with everything else from the character focused on re-starting the routine.

Just not a well designed character in my opinion.
