no tutorial in USF IV?
Hello,

Just brought USF IV arcade edition. I wonder why there is no tutorial mode that teach me how to do combo. Or are there any way to show command that I can follow in training mode rather than check from command list?

next question is how to do tjos Cammy special move Back/Down Forward Up + kick by keyboard?

Trials are more or less a tutorial but they are out dated and many things have changed since. SF is more of a learn in training mode game.

Cammy does not have a back down forward up kick. Maybe you mean Decapre.

Street Fighter does not have a tutorial. The trials are meant as a challenge not as a means of learning. This is the only fighting game that expects you to flock to youtube as a newb and try to learn from others. Most players are so advance that they usually don't even recognize that the lack of a tutorial mode is a fairly big oversight. Goes to show you Capcom tends to only listen to top tournament players when considering what features to add.

Or, you could just watch one in youtube! First Attack by UltraTV is a good way to start

they never felt like making one so your on your own. Hopefully you like spending lots of time doing R&D on your own to figure out combos, and game mechanics

thank you so much for all replies. I read wikia + watch youtube. now I know the Cammy move that I cannot do. it hard to explain at first. it like duck with guard and then down right up punch. (roll over in the air and slide) and I can do some now.

I think youtube or usf4 bible might help me learn some. I just a casual player and I do not think I will goes pro. I knew that I will be a walking punching bag if I goes online play. lol that why I brought this game just only enjoy offline play with AI only. But only play with AI, I'm still need a lot continue to win the game at medium difficulity. (that's why I think if it has tutorial mode or combo teaching mode then it might help me learn something)

I watch prison combo in youtube and I realize that too advance for me. maybe I can find step by step combo. I will search "First Attack by UltraTV" thank you once again.

Fool around in training mode until you have the specials down with whoever you are trying to use and learn a few simple combos. vs com is useful to learn as certain AIs are far harder than others. Practice against the more challenging AIs such as Ryu, Bison, and Seth (at least from my experiences). You can also give them specific ultras, since the AI is absolutely horrible with some; Ryu AI tries to combo his ultra fireball, but fails badly every time for instance. Do not play Adon AI, it was given the most obnoxiously cheesy set up I have ever seen.

No tutorials ingame (Unless you count the outdated trials)

Here are 2 videos made to help beginners at USF4, most things talked about in this can also be applied to SSF4AE...

Hope they help you out.

It's not really an oversight. SF4 is a really simple game on the surface. But going into advanced things will scare people away. SF4 doesn't tell you how to play so casuals never have that sense of "I'm doing it wrong." And they can enjoy the game for what it is. I've had people go through the tutorial of ASW games and they just become overwhelmed with them and it affects their enjoyment of the game because the game tells them they're not competent for not being able to do the things they're supposed to do. The people who aspire to be better players are the ones who will look up things online.

OP sounds like he's having trouble with Hooligan Combination. The infamous "chicken wing" motion can be very difficult for beginners to perform. I would just forget about this move for now and leave it until you get a little more comfortable with Cammy. She's perfectly playable without it. Eventually you will get good enough with the controls that you will start being able to do the chicken wing easily, it will just come with practice and muscle memory.

To add to this capcom listens to top players because they know the games mechanic the best.
