The Only viable one is Hugo and that is cause he moves so slow / is such a huge target.


Everyone else, rolento the most, have invicible frames on damn near Everything. Moves that are barely punishable if at all...

The general consensus so far is that the 5 new characters are quite weak, least from what I've been reading. Hugo is awful but fun to play.

I dunno, Poison seems fairly popular amongst the top ranked over in Japan. Decent zoning, safe on block backflip to close in. But yeah, they're not particularly overpowered at all.

Elena's hitbox is still weird, that's probably my only complaint.

I always hated elena back from 3s times... I mean, it's quite unpredictable in my opinion but probably I just don't know ♥♥♥♥ about the matchup.

The only "broken" character is Elena, but not in the sense of being OP: she has broken hitboxes. Watch Gamerbee vs. Latif at Shadowloo Showdown.

Hugo is bottom 3 with Dan and Dee Jay. And for the others it's just a matter of learning the matchups. Go to YouTube, hit the lab, and you'll be fine. As for Rolento, he has a poor wake up game, so you should take advantage of that.

Poison is easily top 15, imo. Nothing particularly great outside of amazingly-fast recovering fireball, but really solid in just about every other aspect besides wakeup. Easily the best of the 5 new characters.

Decapre is pretty comfortably mid-tier. She has some pretty good limbs, fairly easy combos that lead to decent damage (or LP Rapid Daggers on block for safe chip and meter against most characters), and a really nice mixup game with meaty groundpounds and divekicks.

Elena is straight up broken with her wonky hitboxes, but sadly that's the only thing that really is keeping her remotely relevant right now. Otherwise she's pretty weak, despite some of the better things about her like her footsies and high/low mixup conversion.

Rolento is widely considered to be bottom tier. He has, imo, very good good limbs, but a lot of them don't really do good enough damage to disuade opponents from doing things like other characters with better footsies can. He has garbage wakeup, and a lot of his option are extremely punishable and relies pretty much on the fact that he's new and not many people know where those openings in his offense are. I don't think it would take a lot to make him solidly mid-tier, but right now he just doesn't have it.

Hugo is pretty much universally considered to be the worst of the new characters, if not one of the worst in the entire game. Personally, I don't think it's as bad as everybody says. Yeah, he has some incredibly (INCREDIBLY) bad matchups, like Gouken or Juri, but his footsie tools are extremely effectively when properly spaced and his mixup on an opponent's wakeup with Meaty Clap OS is by far one of the strongest of all the grapplers, imo, not to mention just how absolutely explosive his damage with only one or two mixups. He just has "Hilariously Enormous Hurtbox Syndrome", "Oh God I Don't Have the Proper Tools to Deal with Good Fireball Zoning (Because Capcom Decided to Make Claps Absolutely Terrible at Nullifying Projectiles for Some Reason) Syndrome", and "My Fastest Normal Has 5f Startup Oh God it's Like I'm Playing in Slow Motion Syndrome".

If Hugo were the "only viable" character then he would be the only character worth using. According to your post, OP, Hugo would need to be the LEAST viable in order to fit what you're attempting to get across.

Decapre is good but her playstyle is still maturing. Elena is OK but he main asset is that she has weird hit boxes. Rolento is pretty solid as a shenanigans character. Poison is somewhat one dimensional but solid. Hugo is kind of ass but has good matchups (blows up divekick characters with standing strong/reversal 360's).

I play Decapre,her Gameplay is fast,confusing and she has tons of Mixups with a hell of Dmg.LP Daggers are still unsafe against everyone with a 3 Frame Move on every Range as long the Move comes fast enough out.Ex version is good and press the Opponent fast into the next Corner and the best it's 0 on Block.I go ahead with some Pro's(not in the Skillleague but in the Opinion) and say she is heavaly underreasted.
Rolento is something like a Bison with Mixup's he is solid has a good Offense but weak defense,however his Escape is good,as long you're Opponent has no Airgrab..Good Ways to combo into U1 and very nice Pokes with his Pogostick.I also think he is underreasted and Mid-Hightier.
Hugo is crap,if you play Footsies correct against him.
Elena is dead if you get in range.
Poison best Move is her Throw,you can mash out of her "super"Pressure,her Zoning is good as long you're opponnent stay away and just watch you're Fireballs.

I have a nice Replay were I beat a Blanka in under 20 Secs with her,twice.Would be nice to see for you,so that you can show you're in another Thread that every Char in the Cast is op.
We have 8 Chars with the same Fightingstyle.
And many People wan't a Doll in the Game + Decapre has a very mysterious Background,it's only known that she is Cammys little Sister and that she get's really fast angry.She was a better Choice than something like Mr,I have the exact same Moveset and look like Zangief without the Hair on the breast,Haggard.
For me they can put more Dolls in,they are way more inerresting than more Shotos or another Zangief.Or luwanda,Luwanda would be great.

I like Decapre. She is fun but difficult to play as. I think Alex could have been a great addition to the roster.

I am starting to suspect that Poison is a bit broken. I especially suspect that her special "strike and throw" move is broken.
