Need help with crouch to shoryuken combos.
So I'm very slowly working my way through the trials (Just passed 80%!) Right now the majority of trials I'm stuck at involve some kind of crouch hit followed by a dragon punch type move.

I can't seem to get this transition down and am constantly setting off a hadoken type move or a super/ultra.

Might be hard to put into words but does anyone have any tips?

try to break down the combo first and do the link/Cancel you're trying to do. e.g cr.XX to DP motion. Let's say for example on Ryu's case, Cr.HP xx Shoryu... input Cr.HP then Shoryu (↓+Cr.Hp (Neutral stick) →↓→ + xP) whatever controller you are using try to hit a neutral position on canceling for the DP motion. just let go of the directions for a bit then input the special. You should try to start from downforward or downback instead of just down (something like 16123+P for example). The shortcut 1232123+P works well, or even just 32123+P.
323+P(or +K) is the shortcut for shoryuken type moves. For example, if you need to cancel c.MP into shoryuken you can do 3+MP23+P, 2+MP323+P, 1+MP2323+P or something similar.

1. The shortcut is Down+Forward, Down, Down+Forward+Punch. The same can be applied to backwards Shoryuken motions.

2. The shortcut also works if you do Forward, Down+Forward, Forward+Punch which can be useful if you need to Focus Attack Dash Cancel (aka FADC) a Shoryuken because all you need to do after pressing Punch is hold down Forward, then quickly release Forward and then press Medium Kick + Medium Punch + Forward: this will effectively give you an "instant" FADC.

Point 2 can be applied to any move ending on a Forward input like a Hadoken etc,.

3. FADC's can always be made "instant" by holding a direction, then tapping that direction again with MK+MP - you can use this trick to FADC through opponents fireballs while walking forward/backwards.

Here's a bonus for you: Double Quarter Circle forward motions on ultras/supers have a short cut also,

Down, Down+Forward, Down, Down+Forward, Forward+(whatever buttons here).

This might help you with utilising Shoryuken -> FADC -> Ultra.

Just remember that you can't actually FADC the Heavy Punch Shoryuken

Guys this has all been great help. I'm currently at 88.81%. I never thought I could get this far. Will probably ask for more advice as I get into the worst of it. Not quite understanding that shoryuken instant FADC, I think Fei Long has some of those.
