Need help with Hundred Hand Slap type combos

So I've just cleared 94% in the trials. Where I'm stuck for a lot of them is the combos that require a super tap move in mid combo. I can't get these fast enough or will somehow activate the EX version when not trying.

The video with the arcade stick isn't helpful as I can't tell what he's doing and I'm using a PS3 pad.

Any advice?

Do what I do, slide your thumb on the face buttons.

I start from Square > Triangle >Square > Triangle, then R1. I've seen people do S > T > R1 > T > R1 on occasion, but yeah.

In the vein of what Mikey is suggesting, I personally roll my thumb across the buttons like A > B > A > B and then end in the strength of kick I want to finish with (or 3 kicks for EX) when playing Chun on pad ( X > O > X > O for Playstation pads). Works pretty well but can hurt the side of your thumb when your first grinding the execution out.

Ayy, it really does. This method takes a while to get used too, but once you do get used to it, hitting the HHS-moves are a cakewalk, even on fightpads.

So I've just completed all the HHS type moves, all of which I did without pianoing. I just couldn't get the form and just got good doing it without. Thanks for all the advice though! 7 trials left!!
