Coincidence? The guy had close to 3kpp.
That happened to me as well. They lag on purpose and abuse sweeps and throws. I just take the loss, move on, and never play them again.
Disconnection seems just as common for me when I lose the first match as when I win the first match.
Yes, yes tthey are, this is more of it. What these people are doing is using a net tool program or software firewall that simulates a disconnection by blocking off the port to steam and thus dropping the connection. They turn it on and steam immediately has no access and the game thinks the internet went out; they turn it off and it reconnects right away (as steam will constantly make attempts to reconnect to itself) and they're back in biz. It hasn't been that common but it's looking like it's the new way to shortchange people and never lose PP/BP. Hence why all of a sudden we're seeing these 9000 BP scrubadoo's running around all over the place.
He had like 16 wins in a row when I joined his lobby, lost the first game and then beat him in the second game and as im about to finish him off with a massive life lead he lag switch and up comes "Lost connection to Opponent" and then kicks me from his lobby.
Its a pity Steam aren't strict like Sony are on PSN, they'll ban you if fart in there direction.
There's also the issue that Steam may occasionally drop the connection. Unintentional DCs do happen.
It just happened to me again, the game was smooth then I won a round by almost perfect and the guy "lost connection".
