is ULTRA really standalone game for PC ?
I was just thinking about some things.. If you are interested...

Every game on steam has its own appID, theres next reason maybe that they will let it the same, and ultra is just a DLC for arcade edition. So, the whole new game
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/46392/ is just the DLC (called as package- in case of pre-purchase full version)....

WELL, maybe it cant really be considered as a retail or standalone version like it is in case of consoles, BECAUSE basically you have to own AE to play ultra.

It is just a game (consists of AE+ DLC) which Steam is giving us just a little bit cheaper than buying them separately, of course with an advantage of previous costumes- only if u choose pre-purchase)

and btw, at Steam store, by a tool of search , u can only find ULTRA SF4 digital upgrade, nothing found as " ultra sf4" it is just a package :)

correct if I am wrong, just imo ...

I'm pretty sure its just a content bundle, But I think the standalong part mainly applies to it getting a tangible release and a standalone game pricetag.

On consoles Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition still used the SSF4 save file system & SSF4's achievement listing. The only real change was the DLC data added onto the disc/game file & a new title screen.

Do you think, if u buy this bundle for PC, are you able to play just Arcade edition- If added into library (with all costumes too) WITHOUT a DLC at the moment, or you have to wait for both - AE+ DLC (adding into library too) until 8th august ?

I'd like to believe that it gives you Arcade Edition, the full costume set & says that you own Ultra in the DLC tab, but I have no way of knowing.

upgrade 14.99 , full game 29.99

I purchased the "full" set for $30 yeserday. I received AE in my library and it's showing that I "already own" the Ultra upgrade. No sign of any extra costumes though...
It was my understanding that I'd get all the past ones with my purchase. Maybe when Ultra releases?

That sounds like an error to me.

Yeah this could use some clarification. Do all the costume packs come with the full 30 dollar package of Ultra or not? On the store page now it's simply listed as a content bundle of SSF4AE, and Ultra upgrade dlc.
Systematic Jun 18, 2014 @ 6:03pm
the steam description implies that they're included and the Capcom website does state that all $30 full packages include it...

Thanks, for your response here Systematic.. Its kinda weird with the costumes u said. Hmm, So, havent you got any previous costumes in Arcade Edition ?
I check Steam´ s description about package Sifer2 is right, there is no info at the moment that you will get all costumes from AE, just for the ultra ones.. This rly needs some explanation from them.
At gmg shop there is info that you will get ALL these costumes- previous too.

Man, one question, can u uplay just AE for now right ?
And if u right click on AE in your steam library and then on view downloadable content (DLC), do u see any info about ULTRA dlc ? Or just nothing for now?

I would think that they would give you the costume packs for AE as part of the purchase. Then again... They may have yet to integrate the packs into steamworks for Ultra.

OR

Maybe there is some fine print. Maybe you only get the costumes for Ultra. (Makes no sense, but whatever.)

Edit: I'm pretty sure if you buy the full version of Ultra now, you can play AE immediately.

The Digital Upgrade for SSFIVAE2012 is so people save money. It's not technically a new game. It's a major overhaul to the current game, that's why it's primarily offered as a Digital Upgrade.

The Digital Upgrade for the PS3/X360 versions launched back in June 3 of 2014. If you did not pre-order, you get the new modes, new features, 5 new characters, and a roster overhaul. If you did pre-order the Digital Upgrade, you get an additional 5 dlc costumes for the 5 new characters.

The Digital Upgrade for the PC, in addition to the full retail release for PC/PS3/X360 are all coming at the same time essentially, August 8th according to the steam store page. The Digital Upgrade for the PC is the same as the Digital Upgrade for the consoles.

The full retail release is for people who have never purchased SFIV and is thus the "ultimate" gamer package. It contains the base game and everything updated up until USFIV, in addition to all the DLC ever release up to SSFIVAE:2012, in addittion to the 5 extra dlc costumes for the 5 new characters.

Hope that answers any questions.

I can play AE right now, but under "downloadable content" it shows nothing. nothing about Ultra or other DLC. It does show that I own the Ultra SF4 upgrade. I'm hoping that the extra costumes will either be downloaded soon or at the least when Ultra releases in Aug. Hoping it's just an error/delay on Steam's part. (suddenly got some food poisoning this evening so I'll be gone for a day or two, lol.)

To clarify, pre-order DLC costumes will be added to your account sometime before the game releases. Do not fret :)

Both upgrade edition ($14.99) and full version ($29.99) will receive the alternate costume pack for the 5 new combatants in Ultra SFIV. Each of the five new characters receive one costume.

For those who purchase the full version, you can start playing SSF4AE 2014 edition right away.
