Could Not Find Latest Version of Windows Media Player error (Windows 10)

I installed USFIV a couple of days ago, and right when I tried to run it it threw me an error reading, "could not find latest version of Windows Media Player, please download from..." I found out that I'm running the N version of Windows 10 and that I can get WMP from the Media Feature Pack. So I downloaded it... and it didn't work. I've tried the x86, x64, and they all haven't given me WMP, just installed and disappeared.

Does anyone have a solution?

EDIT: It was a Windows update issue that was preventing the pack from properly installing. I had also been installing the wrong version of the pack in the first place.

Have you tried doing a hard wipe then installing the pack?

What kinda system you use?

I'm having the same issue here. But with me, USF4 was working previously. Then all of a sudden, I get this error. I've installed the update from the site Riesz linked. I have windows 10 and this has worked previously. Only changes I've made is I've upgraded my RAM and GPU. Any help?

Awesome. The fix worked. Thanks a lot. Dunno why it stopped working when it was working previously for me, but as long as it works now is all that matters.

If, for whatever reason, the solutions presented above do not work, you can also try downloading/installing the KB pack posted here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=49919

This fixed my issue ("Cannot find latest Windows Media Player") after previous KB installations failed to correct the problem.

I ended up having to install a pack, I can't remember what it's called. But it included Media Player, Movie Maker, etc. Windows Essentials pack maybe? I can't remember. But it was an official download.
