Can't perform Special moves/Super/Ultra combos
Okay let's start off with something easy, I try to do this in training mode: http://i.imgur.com/T98T7G0.jpg
I press the down arrow, then the left arrow and finally the up arrow twice and then I do a kick (I've tried all of them, light, medium and heavy) but none of it seems to work. Am I doing something wrong? I know this is supposed to be played with an Xbox controller and that it would be easier that way but still I can't be bothered with controllers I love my comfy keyboard lol

This is SSF4AE im playing btw.

Yes you are doing something wrong, that move ends at the side, not up. You can simply press down > left > down > left > kick (fast!) and it should come out

Oh thanks!! and thank you for the fast replies too. I'm gonna try that then!

It is very is to do this on keyboard man. Down then Left means a quarter circle. If you want to do that ultra, just press Down-Left-Down-Left + Any Kick. While doing this, try to press the final "Left" at the same time with "Kick"

Just as a note when playing a keyboard, unlike a controller the device will not input intermediate positions for you, so while SF4 allows a number of shortcuts to moves, you should get used to inputting the full move. In this case to do a QCB (quarter circle back) the full maneuver is:

1. Press down (creates a down input)
2. Press left (creates a down-back input)
3. Release down (creates a back input)
4. Release back (completes the input)

It's going to feel awkward at first but you'll get the hang of it with practice. Do it in training mode until you can do it ten times on each side flawlessly.

Interesting, I could pull it off! Not only that but the Ultra move as well and basically every other move. Now I gotta keep practising, the CPU still beats me! Thank you for the explanation!! both of you!
