USF4 is not cross platform.
Yes, there are plenty of people to find matches.
The game is NOT cross platform, you can only play with people who have the same system that you have.
The game is populated, but the PC version is a piece of ♥♥♥♥ and you can't play online with it, unless Capcom moves their butts and releases a patch (which I would not count on).
Get the game for Xbox 360. Its the only decent version of it at the moment, or don't buy anything from Capcom, they're a terrible company that gives ♥♥♥♥ all about their customers.
Can't play ranked, can't play open endless lobbies, can't go fight request, can't go quick matches, can't go anything except private lobbies and it's been like that for well over 2 month, with Capcom making promises about a patch, but nothing coming except for a new 15€ expansion and more dlc patches.
Don't get your hopes up that this is going to change anytime soon.
I mean you find matches, but it's hard to find noobs, so you prolly get your butt kicked.
Street Fighter 4 used to be good. You might want to wait and see if they bring a patch or not in the next week.
SF is your best bet if you want to win every now and then and the PC version is the best version of all systems, when it's actually working.
The game has been ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up since its transition to Steamworks though.
You might wanna check that out. Pretty beginner friendly game too.
The game was run through Games For Windows Live until 2 month ago and worked perfectly there, being the best SF4 across all platforms.
Since Microsoft pulled its support from GFWL, Capcom decided to port the game over to Steamworks well over 2 month ago and since then the online portion of the game is a mess.
Capcom said they're working on fixing it, but they didn't and when the expansion Ultra Street Fighter 4 was released, the online portion was still a mess and now they promised again to fix it.
You can buy a lot of costumes for the game though, lol.
Ultra SF might be your best bet, it's the biggest playerbase, and if you play friends in private lobbies it's great. You might want to wait for capcom to patch it if you want ot play ranked and stuff tho.
Skullgirls has the best netcode among all figting games on steam, but the playerbase is kinnda low and don't expect to find a lot of noobs.
KOF 13 has decent netcode, but probably even lower playerbase then skullgirls.
