Failed to save game data.

I updated to Ultra SF4, and now it says: “Failed to access saved data. Saved data may be corrupted. Create new save?” Now, it will not even create a new save, telling me: “Failed to save game data. Any progress you make will not be saved.” So now the game is basically unplayable. Does anyone know of a way to fix this. Thanks.

Make sure cloud is enabled.

Thanks for the suggestion, Blanka, but that din't work either.
I deleted the entire 47760 folder, ran the game with cloud disabled and the same message appeared.
I also tried 'Delete Local Content' and re-install USF4 but it did nothing different. Maybe there's a hidden folder with the corrupted save file that doesn't get deleted, but I don't know where it is.

I didn't know about that folder; I really thought it would work this time. No such luck. I don't know how it's still corrupted if I deleted every single trace of the game before re-installing.

It's working now. It turns out the game has a problem if you install it in a non-standard folder. I made a clean re-install to the Program Files (x86)\Steam folder, entered the game and the same question appeared "Create new save?", But this time it managed to create it successfully.

fixed, so I had same problem, usf4, "found no save file or corrupt, you want new save? yes, cant save, no data will be saved", so I unchecked USF4 in dlc list in steam client, let steam update then rechecked ultra dlc so steam re-downloads the 1.9gb file, instead of downloading the whole game.

I removed the 45760 folder in Program files x86/steamapps/userdata, start game, "no save found" yes to create new save, now it saves progress, havent tried to put old save file in though, to keep my unlocks from before, I was at 46%, but at least I can redo unlocks and save game.
