1. Don't mash. You will see more success if you hit buttons only when necessary.
2. Get a general sense of when you're expected to land your next move until you can land the link with relative accuracy. If you're unable to do the techniques described in step 3, you may have to fall back on muscle memory until you can do step 3. Nonetheless, you still require decent timing.
3. Learn techniques that can improve your accuracy. Two popular techniques are double-tapping(tapping a button twice quickly, usually for 2f links) and plinking(hitting a button of higher priority 1 frame before hitting a button of lower priority, usually for 1f links).
Here is a video on how to plink, the demonstrator is even using Rose and is doing the same exact combo that you're struggling with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMLwsNd5LSU
Truthfully, I can't plink very well because it's hard to do on Dualshock so I don't know how to help you plink consistently.
If you do plink mp correctly, your inputs should show two lines: one with only mp and one with your weaker move + mp
Good luck. (You'll need it!)
When you hit someone there is a small line that runs across the healthbar taking damage.
When that line is close to the end hit the next button (plinking helps)
You will find that this is not a golden rule by far but it works for all the basic stuff.
Never stop practicing!!!
