Starting USFIV in 2020 ?
Hello fighters !

I have always wanted to start a fighting game I could spend hours, and I have a preference for the street fighter franchise, even if I didn't play it that much. I have some memories of me playing on the 3ds' ssf4 version, some other on ssf2turbo on emulator, but it ends here.

I was hesitating between starting on sfV, or usfIV. The logical choice would be to go for the most recent edition, but I have some reasons that retain me to do so : I have heard some bad opinions about the game and the game is frequently patch (I prefer more stable environment).

So I wanted to know if it was worth to start playing usfIV in 2020, is the game even good, and most importantly if the community is still active. If you even have enough time, could you explain me the main difference between this game and sfV.

I thank you for any advice !

Sfv as of right is probably the best it's ever been, and they're adding 5 more characters. Play SFV as well

idk about that but ive quit V some time ago and came back to 4 and im still having a blast

from the looks of it there are still enough players of all skill levels to play against

I honestly prefer USF4 due to its focus on neutral and basics, SFV feels to me at least like you're playing a script with one to one answers. USF4 is faster and more skill intensive, however with that said you can still compete and win even if you don't know all the movement tech if you play a solid neutral. SFV is new player friendly and is the latest in the series which obviously means more players. I personally love USF4 and am rather new myself, SF5 feels like you're required to learn long strings or combos which isn't really my style. I wish you well in whichever game you choose, they're both fine games that you can sink hundreds of hours into. Good Luck :steamhappy:

USF4 is better than SFV, a decent number of players is still playing so jump on board!

I bought USF4 on PC, after renting it on PS3, the Game is really good, right?

But on PC, I found so much missing from the Game Features & Options that I dont like the PC Edition at all...

The Game runs fine with no Lag that I see, it runs way smoother then most Games out there...

- Missing Language Voice Overs
- Missing Bonus Stages
- Adjusting Textures Messes Up Game
- Lacking Game Modes
- Doesnt Connect With Older Editions
- Stages Disappear Some Times

The Game is missing a lot, id rather play it on Console... So much better
on Console...

--------------------------------

Street Fighter V Base Game, ive played at a friends house, & ive played the Online Edition on PC at my house for Free... I've seen the large costs in DLC for the Game...

I will never buy Street Fighter V on
Console, nor on Computer, just no...

Street Fighter is a great Series, but
id rather stick to the older 1, 2, & 3 Games on PC, or play SSF4 or USF4
on Consoles...

suuure ...all those "missing features" that you say are on the pc game, i laught when yo endes with "id rather play it on Console... So much better on Console..."

is the same game, is not better or worst on console

consoles ...

As long as you don't use WiFi, it's good. Lag on WiFi is unreal. Both USFIV and SFV are unplayable on WiFi

I've played both PS3 & PC... I own the PC Edition, & its obviously a port from the Console, & a bad port at that...

Im not here favoring Console nor PC,
im just giving an honest Opinion, between the two platforms...

I play both PC & Console, & like both...

The community is really dead. Its a shame but it is what it is. I'd be happy to play with you if the connection is good.
It depends on your location, the game is still active, but best to play with friends, Feel free to play with me anytime. I love USF4.

I've seen people in other forum posts mentioning the "flaws" of the Steam version, and while I agree it's a port that could use some work, by no means should these posts be paid attention to, I've had no issues with the Steam version. I've had a few matches where things play out "strangely" or where characters will colyde and nobody takes a hit but that's to be expected in a 3d(ish) game

Well I see some people still respond on the subject, and I thank everyone for that.
In fact I already bought the game and I'm quite enjoying it, even if I am terrible at it xD

Same. It's a fun game when you play against people around your level but man do I actually hate practicing this game. Labbing combo execution for 10 000 hours and looking up frame data for every single move sux.

Also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the netcode is super bad in every fighting game. Why do fighting games have so terrible netcode??? I can play first person shooter games completely fine with 200 people on the same server but fighting games with 2 people? Oh no no no...

The Game isn't Enjoyable on PC due to the lacking of Features being there,
but it's deffinately playable, & I've had good FPS for running against the AI so far,
have not tried an Online Match yet, I think...

So if your stuck with the Game, & can't get a Refund for the STEAM Edition?
Then there is no reason you wouldn't wanna at least Play Online, or possibly Story Mode...

The Game Works, & I haven't seen an FPS Problem so far, so you gotta give the Game
at least some kind of hope for that...

Character Costumes are decent to some Degree, too

Really my only gripe was the missing of Features, & the texture issues,
because of this, the Replay Value is a bit low, but other then that, the Game
runs great on PC, regardless of the Resolution your Running it on...

However, I wish I could play Full Screen, though, but I can get by this minor issue, o_@
Playing full screen should bean option in your settings. What texture issues? I have oddities in shadows when using certain added effects but nothing aside from that
