What single player modes are there?
Not interested in competetive online play, and I heard that Street Fighter 5 has bad single player. How about this one? Thanks!

At this point, they're about the same in single player content.

Which is to say there's very little that the casual player would be interested in.

You have here a Arcade mode with 44 characters, it takes ~ 10-15 minutes to complete on normal. Then Trials you will probably never finish, unless you want to learn a buttload of 1f links and specific timings.

SFV has a 4 hour cinematic Story Mode. Short Character Storys with 3-4 fights. A buttload of Survival challenges, the daily challenges (what should be called weekly ones) and an arcade mode comming in the future.
SFV has also the easier combosystem so you won't have to waste 100 of hours to perfect 1f links, you will drop online because of lag anyway.

Why should I pay $90.00 for SFV when I can pay $30 for SFIV?
Cipher Esteria Nov 21, 2016 @ 5:22am
It's 60$ not 90$.

Gameplay related content can be earned for free, after you buyed the basegame for 60$ you don't have to pay a single cent to unlock new characters. Even some cosmetics can be unlocked for free.
And if you ever want to jump online,SFV has lots of people, SFIV has ~ 200 and half of them is playing Arcade Mode.
sf5 was aimed at the more casual gamer which is why it has better content for 1 player, and you can earn all the extras by just completing the challenges and story mode.

Yet the maincomplain is,that the game is to hard and aims clearly at the competetive scene.

No surprise SFV removed everything the comp scene hated in SFIV and turned the game back into SF and not Marvel vs King of Street Fighters.

The game-mechanics are factually simplified to appeal a more casual audience, as stated by Capcom itself. The "maincomplain" was the lack of singleplayer-content, which was another sign among many that the game was a rushed release to get the CPT rolling.

I don't think anyone hated anything in sfiv that was fixed in sfv. SFV has simpler mechanics, broken neutral/footsies, low amount of characters and very few features. It "aims" at the competitive scene by releasing it early so players can have time to practice with it before EVO 2016. However, the mechanics are so simplified and lacks depth compared to sfiv AND had that 8 frame input lag. You can't even do things like react to nash dashing in SFV because of the still unfixed input delay.
Cipher Esteria Nov 24, 2016 @ 2:28am
Lol

Then explain me why Nashs dashing has become nearly obsolent after they reduced the input lag by only 1 frame.
Infiltration got his ass handed to him,the last time he tried to do this.

And yes, SFV removed everything the old SF Veterans hated about SFIV:
-Vortex
-OS City, what put the game on rails from the first knockdown
-Focus to ♥♥♥♥ the neutral up
-FADC,what made the whole risk/reward of DP's absolutly pointless, since it turned a high risk, high reward move into a low risk high reward move
-Ultras your 50% Comeback mechanic, for getting beaten
-1F links, what turned every earned punish into a risk of dropping your BNB and allow the opponent to punish you instead.
-Focus back on the neutralgame. No characters who can skip the neutralgame, like Zangief with Greenhand, Yun,Rufus,Ibuki or Akuma (just to name a few).
- A balanced cast. It's the best balanced Vanilla version the series ever had.

The pros who complain about SFV are to 100% the ones who jumped into the series with IV and have never played older games. The old dogs, such as Valle or Daigo like it much more than SFIV.
And explain me why SFV draws in Alpha and 3S player, but they basicly skipped SFIV.

Again to the Input Delay, Alex Valle played his last(or one of the lasts) Streams on PC and even said how great this game plays with such a low input delay.
Yes PC can run at 4-5f of input delay.

Currently, it's on sale, but when it's not on sale...it's 60 for the base game and another 30 for DLC to get the rest of the characters. So it is 90.

Most DLC is free, including ALL characters. You have to unlock them, it's no different from how old fighting games would start out with half of the roster available and you have to unlock them by playing.

Street Fighter V is very much improved now. I'd say jump into that... Mostly because you can unlock most of the characters by simply doing the story modes (on normal and hard difficulty, nets you plenty of in game money to buy characters), Trials and Demonstrations along with Survival Mode net you plenty of Fight Money too...
