If you are struggling to link attacks from the start try omega mode characters as they have the sf5 3 frame buffer system on their links, so you can mash the next button and it will hit if the frame data says so.
Its also worth noting that most bnb's in sf4 start with chain cancellable light attacks, these are mash friendly but you cant straight cancel out of a chained attack (except for rapid button specials like chun lightning legs and gen rapid hands). This means if you want to cancel into a special, the normal you are cancelling from has to have been linked from the previous button.
Hope this helps a bit, hit me up if you want some help with methods for linking such as P-linking and select linking
thx. I can link pretty good, but a link from light to heavy seems weird :D
