$1000 is an insane price when you consider that it won't even work without controllers and base stations. That means you can go ahead an add on about $580. Assuming you already have a good PC and don't need to buy one, the total comes out to $1580 before shipping and taxes.
Why buy this when you could buy the Index for the same price, but it also comes with base stations and controllers included? Are we really entertaining the idea that custom IPD and prescription lenses are worth that much money?
I'd much rather have an IPD adjuster and buy my own prescription lenses if needed. I already have 20/20 vision. Is the headset going to be cheaper since I don't need that feature? Oops, never mind about the prescription lenses, those aren't included in the $1000! You have to pay $80 for them!
A fully custom, light, pvcr headset sounds like a great idea on paper, but if this is what you have to pay to get one, I think most sane people would rather have the headset be slightly heavier and have one size fits all IPD. I would absolutely buy this if it was fairly priced.
Edit: just some more info from their website. The minimum requirements for this headset includes an RTX 2070 or AMD RX 5700 XT. So if you don't meet this requirement, then be ready to fork over another $350-$400. Most pcvr players will already have this, but there are definitely some out there who do not.
Hey buddy make sure you read about it and watch the videos included before you post non-credible nonsense. The measurements are higher then 90 degrees.
I swear Steam forums are some of the worst forums on the internet. Resorting to name calling is unacceptable.
Innovation should be celebrated not trolled.
Is this why we never got a friend's list in Bigscreen? Y'all running out of money?
the psvr 2 is ~600 usd, and the quest 2 is ~400 usd, by the way.
HMD: 1490$
Customs: 407$
Taxes: 260$
makes 2.157$ in total
Since the store page has no FAQ or something I can't be 100% sure taxes and customs are already included but even if so... way too much to import that thing compared to the 999$.
