Is VR movies better than watching on TV?
I was thinking about to buy a VR Headset but is it really worth it if i do not want to play VR Games? Yes i will play a couple games just for testing but that's it.

I'd say, if you only want to watch movies, and not really play any VR games, than i am not sure how financially viable it'd be. in the end if you can afford it, go for it (I'd recommend a Pico4, due to the higher resolution, or quest3 even better, if you have the money for it).

In general, you can have a cinema type screen virtually with big-screen, that simply mirrors your main screen. If you have the space and money to build a proper home cinema, i'd go with that instead, but if you are space limited or don'T want to invest hundreds to thousands for high quality home cinema, it might be viable and worth it.

Go to Best Buy or Amazon and get yourself a Quest 3 and try it for a few weeks. If you're in the US you probably get until the end of January to return it.

Yes, it's 100% better than watching it on TV, especially if you have nice headphones too. Since I've been using BigScreen I've barely used my TV for anything else other than sports games (because I jump up and down and pace back and forth lol)

If you've got the cash and don't mind splurging a bit, perhaps your best bet is to go for their headset - the Bigscreen Beyond. Especially if you're picking it up for movie watching.

The Quest 2 and 3 can be quite heavy, and holding half a kilo on your head for 2-3 hours is pretty uncomfortable, especially when you're lying down and not engaging in any intense movements. Their headset is perhaps one of the lightest on the market (four times lighter than Quest 2/3).

Additionally, their headset boasts higher resolution and OLED displays, which are crucial for richer colors and a vibrant picture, ultimately the key when watching movies.

It might sound like an advertisement, but if I had the money right now, I'd definitely swap out my Quest 2 for these, especially considering I'm also a huge cinema maniac.

the quality of the display is the key, I also think the app is important, even now I'm amazed at how on Amazon Prime 1 hour video on Quest2 only weighs 350MB whereas on the PC it weighs 1.7GB

Short answer, not really, no. If VR was the way to watch TV, they'd be flying off shelves and bought by non-gamers everywhere, but that's not happening. In fact, there's all kinds of industry know-it-alls out there saying that VR is a dying form of entertainment. (Not that I believe them, but they seem to think they have plenty of evidence.)

If the display was amazing, I would say yes.

I enjoy watching some TV shows on my Quest 3. Toss them on 4XVR app, and enjoy scaling to the size of screen you want. Pass through or void so it's all black is nice. What I enjoy is watching BluRay or even 4K content at a giant screen, about the size of theater or iMAX. You get a chance to take in more detail than what you could just watching on a TV or mobile device.

All that said, I enjoy the visual quality of the Quest 3, but I love the color/contrast of my Vive Pro with Gear VR Lens mod.

If only we could get PSVR2 on PC, seems like that would be the sweet spot for all this.

Granted it's all tethered, so if you're looking for un-tethered, Quest 3 is what I would recommend with a little power brick to help you get through a 3 hour movie.

Micro-OLED can be pushed to higher brightness levels than OLED
