Did you install the audio driver and hit "Refresh Audio" after playing something?

Are you using Windows 11? If so it doesn't work properly yet and they're aware and working on a fix still. Someone said as a temporary work around you can use windows audio mixer to rout whatever app you're trying to share audio from to "Bigscreen Audio Device". Don't set the default playback for everything to be that though, just the specific app you're trying to stream audio from.

Any way you can try it on a PC player, like VLC, without getting bluestacks in the middle?

I've had a lot of issues with streaming audio as host on Index as well.
Steps you can take:
Manually install the Bigscreen audio driver from within the Bigscreen folder in Steamapps, reboot.

In the Sound control panel/communications tab/"Do Nothing" instead of "Reduce volume by __ %"

Make sure you are _not_ forcing the "Bigscreen Audio Stream" device as default. Keep your default set to the Index or whatever sound devices you normally use for both playback and recording. Bigscreen will automatically use their driver when needed. Again, do not touch default playback or recording device, you'll can get an earsplitting awful noise if you do that.

I'd recommend cutting out Bluestacks and using VLC or chrome or something else. Especially VLC. Inside VLC you can go to Tools/Preferences/Audio/Audio Dervice and output sound to the "Bigscreen audio stream" device (this is what I have to do to get mine to work)
You can also force an application through windows mixer to use the "Bigscreen Audio Stream" as output and that often will do it. This works for Chrome/Firefox/and probably Bluestacks.
Make sure you and your guests hit "refresh audio" within Bigscreen as you test different steps and ensure all your volumes are up in game as host and out of game.
I'm running the game on Win11 (not even officially supported) and spent probably 10 hours at least troubleshooting the audio with Bigscreen so if one of these doesn't work, I'll give you some more options.
