Black screen when playing videos, watching channels (except 3d trailers)
I get a black screen when playing my own videos or watching channels, only the 3D trailers work.
I do see video when I enable the 3D mode but ofc it's not watchable cause it's just 2D video.

I rolled back my nvidia drivers as mentioned in another thread for black screen and got video/streaming channels to work once... but then the audio wasn't working and i reinstalled the driver and now neither work, but I hear audio of a playing video when I press the menu button to quit the app...

Either through oculus or steam nothing plays except the 3D movie trailers

all the windows updates have been done

I use a Oculus Rift S and launching Bigscreen via Oculus or Steam has the same result.

You could be having problems with copy protection. Don't know what you are using for content source & video player. Try just watching stuff in youtube in full screen mode for a test. Do you have a special/unusual monitor(s)? Could be something with that.
I had that black screen when I watched free shows. Heres what worked for me, hope it works for you. Goto my room, under tools and toys there is a "steam cam" button. press desk top feed, first person, reset.

Please try restarting your Oculus service when you run into this issue by going to the Settings > Beta tab in your Oculus app and restarting Oculus from there, and then starting up Bigscreen again.

Many Thanks, just going into that option whilst watching the black screen video clears it up.
Obvious a Bigscreen issue, i thought it be a driver problem.

can't you just fix this issue? It has been abysmal issue. So annoying. but fix is simple and it's working. Peregrine!
Glad to help.
Now here's my problem. I can't rent or watch movies because of windows 10 blocking my access and I get a pop up telling me this.
I heard back from a dev; was told that wins 10 knows about the issue. Yet nothing is being done for a month now by any side, very frustrating.

That shouldn't work but it does. Was having trouble watching videos with the player. I didn't even have to do anything extra, just picking the stream cam worked.

Wow, I forgot about this. At the time, I remember trying different things and stumbled on this solution. I'm glad it helped others.
Ya, I was surprised when it first worked for me.
