3d movies depth
Is there a way to adjust the depth of 3d movies in big screen?
I got a 3d tv that i use with my steam link directly from my pc and the 3d looks great in it but when i try it with bigscreen 3d mode with my rift the 3d is barely noticeable u have to realy be looking for it to see any 3d i've tried avatar, megamind and guardians of the galaxy vl2 and all looked great on my 3d tv but not so great on bigscreen

I may not be understanding what you're trying to do. Isn't the Steam Link to put computer games on your TV screen? So you want to play a 3D movie in Bigscreen and have it come out on your TV, which you say looks great ordinarily? So why don't you just watch the 3D movie on your TV? I think something is going over my head. ?? And I don't understand where the Rift comes in if you're trying to display on your TV. Sorry I may be dense but my intentions are good! ;-)

I'm trying to use bigscreen to play a 3d movie on my rift and the depths isnt as great as when i use MPC (Media Player Cclassic) to play a movie on my 3d tv using steam link (nothing to do with the rift here) so its the same file being played in 2 different methods giving a very different result

OK, Thanks for the clarification. I thought I was way off the track. I've watched quite abit of 3D in Bigscreen and its one of my favorite features and I saw a snake the other day in the Amazon that about knocked me out of my seat, so I know very noticeable depth is possible.

To see 3D in Bigscreen, the movie you are playing must be either SBS or OU, so two images are displayed on your monitor (by your media player), then you go in Bigscreen, and set your Media Player to Full Screen, put the movie on the BigScreen, and select either OU or SBS, and voila, you should see one 3D image in your HMD.

Here's a little article that may be a bit dated: http://bigscreenvr.com/help/gettingstarted/sbs3d/

i already got it working in 3d i was just wondering if there was a depth setting like in my TV and even on my nvidia 3dvision had that i did not know about because the depth that i see when i play the same file on my 3dtv is so much better than in bigscreen... U can still see it in good 3d movies like guardians of the galaxy 2 but still not as good as i see it on my 3d tv which is a shame

Nope, no depth control but if you put the movie onto the small screen you can still get it to play in 3D and you have a lot more flexibility to control the size, position and curvature of the screen so you may be able to play around with that and get closer to what you want. Your 3D TV must be great because I don't have one and to me, Bigscreen's 3D effect is very noticeable. What kind of TV is it? Is it curved? Do you have to wear glasses to see 3D? I'm gonna have to check one out!

Its a common 5 year old 3dtv with passive glasses... i dug out my old nvidia 3d vision kit and pluged them in and even they give a better 3d effect... i've watched that opening scene with baby groot dancing while the rest of the guardians fight behind him a dozen of times in all 3 devices and the bigscreen+rift one seems to give the least ammount of depth... i did find that if i remove fraps fps counter the effect improves with bigscreen and that the lounge is the best scene to watch 3d in but still would love a depth setting for the 3d

Try sitting further from the screen. Distance from the screen is the "depth" in bigscreen.
