Isn't thsat kind of on the creator of the room to convey that information? I have seen rooms where they tell you it is a porn room via the title. The developers have provided a mechanism to allow this warning.

yeah but it doesnt mean a child that sees it wont join

Now I get it. The 18+ designation would block the child.

That's kind of funny. Back a few years before all the smart phones and other Internet appliances, I used to advise my friends with kids to keep their PCs in a shared room of the house so anybody could see at any time what they were up to. I guess that wouldn' t necessarily work with VR. They could be sitting on the chair next to you nice and quiet but in VR, sitting at a bar on a nude beach somewhere! "Just working on my homework, Dad..."

The fix for that is just make sure, that what they are seeing is doubleed on the desktop like it defaults to.

Hey H35. Appreciate the feedback. 18+ rooms should currently be "blurred out" by default. We're looking at the best way of addressing this, and should have a more developed approach/policy soon.

Well guys I kind of think you have to look a little quickly, My teenagers were using an oculus go this morning an were confronted with something I am pretty sure against the Law is in all countries. Luckily they told me about this straight away and I proceeded to DE install all versions of the app on all our devices. The app is great but being misused at the moment. I think you have to move quickly to at least make certain functionalities much more discreet or release a version specifically for "legal" adult content.

@Duttch Taf, you probably ought to report something like that on their discord channel so they can get a little more info about it from you, logs, etc. before too much time elapses. I am sure they are concerned about that kind of thing. Here is a link to their Discord:

Not this old bugbear again. There are two things that should be done to address this.. If you install any social app you should monitor what your childen are doing (and they need be older than 13 anyway to use social apps). The Devs just need a stronger agegate like an 18+ password you create when installing the app and have to be entred everytime you start up the app if you want to access +18 rooms. Or make +18 access an in app purchase. or indivdual age based accounts. Its true, the current process of ticking a NSFW box once when you intall the app (and never having to tick the NSFW box again) is rather weak. I sure the devs will work out something (id go for making adults pay for a higher level of access by credit card)

The NFSW Box dosnt work squeakers will still come in no matter what and i have had a few time where they where the ones suggesting porn, honestly kids shouldn't even be allowed to come here. A password isn't gonna work its just going to keep anyone for joining and a universal password will no nothing too because a kid is just gonna get it and do whatever.

u can make varafied accounts, just have someone send a staff member a photos of their id but it really shouldn't your job to be someone else kids parent

And as far as the other stuff kids are just gonna steal their parents credit card it happens all the time it was how we got porn when i was a kid

dont let your kids onto VR unsupervised.

dont be a ♥♥♥♥ parent. literally just do the bare ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minimum and make sure your kid isnt joining sketchy rooms on bigscreen.

You know your kid can just open ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ through your desktop right?

...so why is pornography even permitted on this app? You don't find it pretty damn creepy that someone wants to watch porn with complete strangers?

I dunno, maybe that's their kink, whatever; the simple fact is, this happens in any online environment where someone's allowed to share their desktop. The fact they even were reasonable enough to add a mature audience tag to the game at all is surprising and a good job.

That said, if you expect them to police what people watch in their rooms, that seems a bit much. Personally I don't see the draw to watching porn with others, but I also don't see a reason to stop people as long as they are using the appropriate 18+ tag.

If you leave your kid alone with strangers on the internet, bad things can happen, watch your kids and control their internet access.
