issues playing coop on DR 2

Hi everyone

as per title we're having trouble playing co-op on dead rising 2. It used to work consistently for 2 days stright by following this method:

1)Both of us would be in our respective saves

2)We'd then invite eachother

3)I would click on my friends invite and wait at the message prompt that says I'd leave my game

4)my friend would accept the invite I sent him, click "yes" on the prompt, and then go into "attempting to join"

5)i'd then hit "Escape" and receive their request to join my game on my walkie talkie

This method worked for two days, but now it doesn't work anymore for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason. We've tried this ♥♥♥♥ countless times since then but nothing. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any alternative methods on how to fix this? I would really appreciate any help as we were really having fun playing coop
