"Loading downloadable content . Please wait..." But not loading.

Plaid through the game at least 3x coop and 2x solo and it always was working. But now after not playing it for about 2 -3 years I got the message "loading downloadable content. Please wait..." yet it does Not load anything. Especially I do not even own DLC for this game this is a weird one. As far as i remember i activated this and OTR version first on GFWL (games for windows live) first orgiginally and later here. Worked till now or at least till before the hiatus.
Who knows something about it or how to fix it?

PS: stuck in said loading screen right after boot up and cannot abort it.

Works for now. I still wonder why this is a thing. I did change nothing on my PC or on steam or the game itself. Which update wast that supposed to be?

its a 15 year old game sometimes ♥♥♥♥ just breaks for no reason.

I tried reloading it and it still just says that over and over. I uninstalled and reinstalled and even let it sit for 6+ hours and still wont load... what else can i do?

I've had this issue since purchasing in 2020.

Unplugging my controller before launching seems to have done the trick.

How did you play the game in Coop?
Last time I tried it, it was almost impossible due to the amount of lag.

How did you play the game in Coop?
