The option to enable my 360 controller is grayed out?
The 360 controller works with gfwl. I can press the home button and everything. The issue that I am having is the option to enable it is grayed out. The controller works as I use it for other games. Any fixes?

where do you put the program that you download and do you run it while the games running or what?

How to enable the wireless 360 controller in the game menu:

Download the Xbox360CE v2.0.2.62. http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/down...2.zip&can=2&q=
Delete x360ce.ini.
Run x360ce.exe.
Click yes to create x360ce.ini.
Load preset Controller (Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows).
Open advanced tab of controller and disable native mode.
Uncheck force feedback.
Click options.
Set FakeWMI to be EnabledUSB.
Set Fake DI to be EnabledCalback.
Check of Fake WIN Trust.
Leave the rest.
Check if your buttons/axes are mapped properly.
Save changes.
Go to PC Settings and enable your controller (it won't be grayed out anymore).

Just tried it myself, loading up game now to confirm.
I got to the step with options tab and I can't find anything about the fake wmi or anything and also tried setting hook to compatability, nothing works for me

Juliano, thanks man. It worked with x360ce 2.0.2.62. I set all the options, relaunched the game and it din't work but then I placed the x360ce files in the Dead Rising 2 root folder. Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Rising 2\

Works great now!

I was in the same boat this morning. The key for me was putting the x360ce in the dr2 directory. I JUST did this and everything works. Give it a try if you havent already done so.

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I tried the fix here, which i though worked as I could select and scroll up and down options on the main menu and could start and play the game no problem. Soon as I logged in to Windows crap so I could save on my profile, my controller no works. WTF is up there???

Anyone advise on this, as this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiclous to have a game that doesnt support controllers.

theres tons of PC games that dont support controllers. on the store page always check and see if it has any kind of support. this one has partial suppport. took me awhile to get it working, but it did eventually work.

The only method that has worked for me is using SCP drivers on a PS3/4 controller that emulates an original 360 controller.

I was able to get this to work with a combination of this and adding the following from this guide to the ini file. (credit: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=818856305)

[InputHook]
HookLL=0
HookCOM=1
HookSA=0
HookWT=0
HOOKDI=1
HOOKPIDVID=1
HookName=0
HookMode=0

Also want to mention the version I downloaded of the file is newer and I couldn't find the following in the program.
Open advanced tab of controller and disable native mode.
Set FakeWMI to be EnabledUSB.
Set Fake DI to be EnabledCalback.
Check of Fake WIN Trust.

Also be sure both the ini file and the dll file are in the dr2 folder!

So guys, I've tried everything I could find on the net, but still can't enable the settings...
But I can finally say this is the solution.
So the most important thing is you have to enable the hook mode to compatibility mode.
This is the only thing that matters, aside from basic settings.
Latest versions do not have this option, I've searched everywhere (dunno if it actually exists)

So yeah to sum it up:
You have to set your joystick to actually working condition in the settings, make sure the hook is set to compatibility and disable the force feedback. Then you're good to go!
Follow this guide correctly and you're good to go!

So does this just apply to this game or set options for all games.
360 support "was"in this dr 1 and 2 at the start, but updates broke it for most,
including myself.
