Dead Rising 2 won't start up
I recently got Dead Rising 2 and when I start it up, it gives me a message saying "Games for Windows - LIVE must verify the release date of your game. Please make sure that your computer is connected to the internet. No personal information will be sent to Microsoft. A LIVE ID is not required" Once this message pops up, it just says I'm playing Dead rising 2 from my friends list but it just stays at that message. Once I close the message it says I'm not in the game anymore

Found the fix after a couple of Google searches, manually update Dead Rising 2 with this:
http://download.xbox.com/content/434...4_10000284.cab

If you play "Off the record" use this:
http://download.xbox.com/content/434...3_10000183.cab

It is related with the GFWL shut down?

Messed up the links for the updater's, here is the order of things i did to get it to work:

1. Installed "DR2" and "OTR"
2. Tried to start "DR2" but it gave the error
3. Checked the file integritie
4. Tried to play it again, unsuccesful
5. Downloaded the update for "DeadRising2[download.xbox.com] "
6. Deleted: "zdp folder", "deadrising2.exe", "deadrising2.exe.cfg" and "deadrising2.exe.zdp"
7. Started the update
8. After this the game started and worked after logging-in

9. Repeated this for "Off the record" using the same steps but with: This Updater[download.xbox.com]

People should stop being concerned about that. It is happening in 9 months!

Also if your running this from an external USB drive it won't launch...forget it. Use STEAM mover (google it) and put it on drive C. I run STEAM and all my games off a very large external drive so I can take my games with my anywhere. I've seen this happen to me on Windows 7 and 8 64 bit and on the DVD version of this game and the STEAM version. This was the only solution I found to get it to work.

This totally solved it for me for both Dead Rising 2 games:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-gaming/dead-rising-2-through-steam-windows-live-error/ad2d780a-10fc-4c94-ac8b-74e2b076d96a

"Simply press ENTER to continue on this screen, or set Font scaling back to normal and you will be able to read the entire dialog and see the buttons."

Hope it helps
