For people looking to do TIR
The Terror Is Reality game mode is broken

I wanted to bring this to the attention of people so that you do not waste your time on this game mode like me and the many other people I played with have done.

If you're someone looking to play Terror is reality either for the TIR Helmet & Suit or the achievement TK's Favorite then you're out of luck.

After the steamworks update back in 2016 Terror is Reality broken, when you're going to the final score after slicycles the game will freeze and crash 100% of the time.
There's no fix for this.
Meaning you cannot earn reward money needed for the TIR cosmetics.
And it also keeps the game of Slicycles (and possibly the 3 games before that) from counting towards the TK's Favorite achievement.

Rising Star & Win Big are still achieveable via playing TIR but that is it.

Capcom isn't going to fix this game because it was made by Capcom vancouver which was shut down September 18 2018, and Capcom Japan has no interest going back to their old US made games to fix them.

If you're a completionist wanting to get rid of that last achievement from the list then you've got no other choice than to use Steam Achievement Manager.
Search it online and Github should show up where you can download it from.
Be weary when using it though as online games using VAC has a slim chance of getting triggered when using this program on games that uses it, which aren't many. But worth mentioning.

It is safe to use on this game, that's how I unlocked TK's favorite for myself.

Finally!! Figured out how to get TK's favorite achievement even with slicecycles crash glitch.
First I'd like to give a big thank you to outrunners who brought the initial idea and took some tweaking to figure out.

Second a big ♥♥♥♥ YOU to Capcom for never even acknowledging any e-mail, voice mail or forum post about this issue, you guys are a class act.

So in case you're just joining us Capcom migrated DR2 to steamworks on Mar 17 2015 with achievements. On May 20 2015 they released an update for the game that caused a glitch in TIR where at the end of the last round (Slicecycles) the game crashes and just hangs. You can get the other 2 online achievements but not TK's Favorite. Also you cannot save the money you win and bring it to single player, to my knowledge there is no workaround for this.

So for the TK achievement it works like this: The game doesn't count any of the events won until the end of the game. BUT since the game crashes it doesn't save any of them. HOWEVER if during slicecycles the host (red player) quits out, then it saves your games won up to that point. So get a group of 4 people and take turns. Whoever is host cannot get wins, keep a tally of who has completed which events and remember, it doesn't save permanently unless the host quits during the last event.

Once you have the initial 8 completed then just win slicecycles. The achievement will pop 1 second before the game crashes. And there you have it, it IS possible, no thanks to Capcom.

These are two essentials comments that I have found on steam discussion.
If you want to 100% Dead Rising 2, you need to know that.

Now I have one more thing : Dead Rising 2 is region locked.
Meaning ? If you are in Europe, you can't join players in North America for example.
I have made the experiment yesterday.

*I have tried a VPN and I finally managed to join a game in NA .... for 3/4 minutes until disconnexion.

So, if you want to do all 4 TIR achievements, make sure that other players are near from your position.

You don't need a VPN to change your region on Steam. When I was working on achievements, I played with people from Brazil and the USA while being in Europe. All you need to do is change your Download Region in Steam settings.

However, my group encountered a problem where some people couldn't find a lobby hosted by a specific person. This means your network settings might affect others' ability to join your lobby if you are the host.
