Big Earl and the redneck snipers

Big Earl and his redneck snipers is one of the worst things I've ever seen in a game. Unless I'm missing something, you cannot dodge their shots. Pinpoint accuracy from far away elevated positions, while they take a pounding, meaning you can't kill them before they kill you from a distance, unless you're using some cover exploit which I tried, and they just shoot thru walls cuz ha ha funny.

I made it to Big Earl and getting to him requires taking some shots. If you're packing healing, it's still rough. He runs and tries to shoot you, or he charges you and stabs you to death. Randomly shredded me when I had 3 squares of health. Cool.

It doesn't feel like it was playtested at all. It feels like they had to put in a ha ha redneck conservative joke and didn't think at all about balancing it. The other psychos are at least one on one or one on two skill based fights. They're spongy but they aren't cheap (mostly). These snipers feel really damn cheap. And it's not like they have a windup to aim and shoot you like 99.9999999999% of other games. They instantly lock on and hit you, and you don't just take damage. You get knocked on your ass. Nice.

Another devious thing is that there's a save point "conveniently" near the snipers. But if you save there, you're likely to hardlock your game if you can't beat them, as they cover almost all angles you're at. When I reached the middle, I had half to a quarter of my health remaining AFTER consuming THREE health items. What the ♥♥♥♥?

Super into this game after not playing it for 10 years but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this part makes me want to drop the game. Thank god I didn't save in that restroom between the two big rocks. And no, some spot that allows you to cheese them doesn't make it good game design. It's garbage, and there's no defending it. MAYBE if you didn't get stunned and/or they didn't insta lock on and nail you, it would be okay. Just okay. Not good. Simply okay.

Any tips, like for real? I went to the gun shop in the mall and grabbed some sniper rifles, but A) zombies everywhere blocking shots and grabbing me, B) they do little to no damage to them, and C) they nail you and stunlock you, allowing them to trade damage with you really well. I did almost kill Big Earl on my second arrival but as I stated earlier, he shredded 3 squares of health instantly with slashes, because game design. I really like this game but what the actual ♥♥♥♥ is this...

Make some Quick Steps using 2 Wines, and some Painkillers using 2 Vodkas at a blender, the closest one to the safe house can be found at the bar in the Americana, Quick Step will make you move faster, Painkiller will make you take less damage.

As for weapons, I recommend the Flaming Gloves (Boxing Gloves + Motor Oil) or Knife Gloves (Boxing Gloves + Bowie Knife).

Thanks. I also discovered during the later helicopter fight that dodge rolling makes you invincible? Or at least really hard to hit.

u can cheese some of the fights if you hide behind AC unit at correct angle and snipe them to death they cant shoot u if u barely peek.

also spam ctrl while climbing to roll and dodge earls bullets if hes climb camping
