Black screen on startup; can still hear audio

Whenever I start this game up it loads a black screen only. I can still hear menu audio. I can see the game flash on my second monitor back and forth a few times. I have tried using one monitor and it just is a black screen. Anybody know of a fix?

Well, I seemed to have fixed this with a combination of methods:

I had to set audio to 24 bit, 48K hz AND put the .exe in Win 8 compatibility mode. I had to load the game up with only my main monitor active. It let me in, I changed PC settings in game to my desired res/quality and now it works fine.

Also, I have reverted my audio to 32 bit, 193K hz and turned compatibility mode OFF, and I am running a second monitor again. No issues now with the game. So weird.

thanks a lot, faced the same problem. And I just set the .exe file to run using win 8 and the problem was solved, but I myself would hardly have guessed, thanks again!
