BUT that being said I feel they should have at least 3 times the life variety, mineral, and rock variety. The reason they don't focus on those things is because, meh how long will that stuff keep you interest after you have seen it once or twice I think. I mean when I started playing I used to look at the flora and fauna in my data and let myself fall into the immersion of being a space explorer. But after a while it loses its appeal. I wish I had the answer for proc gen games to add more depth but I know nothing of coding and am not so arrogant to believe that just because I think it, it can be programmed without absurd code bloat.
Like
ice will melt normally
Water flow ingame sucks, piping is a nightmare, does not follow logic..!
Steam at 200 celcius? lol
Nowhere do they say here that they're *never* going to release more DLC, nor do they say that they'll only ever release free content updates. They said they're shifting their focus... and focuses can change exactly as they did in that original news post. Unless there's some other place where they outright promise there will NEVER be another DLC ever again then it's a bit ridiculous to say they lied and compare them to companies that have repeatedly lied and failed to meet expectations.
How exactly do you want them to keep supporting the game when they get no more money ? Atleast this way the game can keep growing
I think that one was pretty self explanatory....
Were you meant to post that that in the recent DRG Season 5 Announcement but accidentally posted it in ONI announcement instead?
Great content has to be paid for, otherwise there won't be great content. Simple as that. I enjoy ONI MASSIVELY and I am more than willing to pay for all upcoming DLCs.
This not only encourages the devs to keep working on the game, but also helps them produce even more quality content.
Nonsense. There are quite few games that prove this wrong and i mentioned several of them in my earlier post here today.
Or encourages them to release low effort cash grabs DLCs like most studios who "shift focus" to dripfeeding content via DLCs end up doing.
The kind of content they want to include in said DLCs sound like it's fraction of what Spaced Out! DLC has content wise (even in it's early days) and what they said the time between these DLC releases is also very worrying.
This whole going back on their word and deciding to do these kind of update sized paid DLC releases often. Stinks of Tencent.
Same way they been doing it for years both for ONI and DST?
Same way other indie sutdios who add free content updates instead adding them as dlcs do?
You have no idea what you are talking about if you think Klei has no money or close to having no money.
There's been a fair few developers that cash in on their games with frequent low-effort high-price DLCs until they run out of goodwill and I hate it and end up not buying anything from that developer (or even publisher) ever again. Please don't become part of that group.
