Infinite Niobium?

So I brought some Niobium from my rocket trip and started to refine it in molecular forge to Thermium (5kg Niobium + 95kg Tungsten).
Metal refinery has a recipe to extract Niobium from Thermium. But instead of just 5kgs back I get 100kg of Niobium (though no tungsten).
This means i don't need to ship any more Niobium, because i can simply transform tungsten into it. Considering most if not all properties of Niobium are superior to Tungsten, this seems like it's not intentional.

Dont see why youd try to extract niobium if you didnt get more than you put in. I think it may be sensible to have such permanent advantages to having gotten some niobium. By now, my bottleneck for more thermium is thungsten/wolframite which i have barely any left.
