Wire Bridges?
In my new base I have 2 natural gas generators connected to batteries and transformers with heavi watt wires and wire bridges. The wire bridges are overloading for apparently no reason, and I can't seem to fix it. The only solution seems to get rid of the wire bridges, which leaves me with a bunch of heat leaking into my main base (had to cut holes in the wall) Anyone know how to fix this?

The only time I have ever seen a Wire Bridge take overload damage it was because I had a small gauge wire piece connected to the grid somewhere (something i forgot to upgrade/remove when i fixed the grid). It was causing the grid to be treated as the smaller capacity & with the bridge taking all the overload damage.

I have also noticed that the wire could be a single square on a connection (for example the wire under the connection point on the bridge) which meakes it very hard to notice when thats the cause :)

I suspected this too and thanks for the detailed answer but I've spent a long time trying to solve this. I've made sure my heavi watt wires and normal wires are seperated, and wire bridges aren't going over the normal wires. Here's a screenshot if you want to see.

Wire Bridge is 1kW max, like the regular wire. You cannot connect Heavi Watt Wires using it. The whole circuit from/to transformer works with a maximum capacity of the weakest link. So your HW Wires work exactly as regular wires, with a current of 1kW max, because of the bridge.
You need to connect your Generators to the Transformers with a HW Wire, without any interruptions like bridges, then connect 1kW Transformer output to the isolated circuit.

It's important to plan your power section well. I use this diagram:
Gen1 == Gen2 == GenX == Bat1 == Bat2 == BatX == Trans 1 -- Bat -- Circuit 1 == Trans 2 -- Bat -- Circuit 2 == Trans 3 -- Bat -- Circuit 3

Transformers seems to "charge" and they can stop working for a second when they do (power shortage icon), that's why I use a battery buffer on the Circuit side.

Yes, I agree with what Czupak says: wire bridges count as 1kW wires. Try using the heavi-watt plates. Although currently they can't go through a wall vertically. Try using them horizontally (I haven't tried it yet, only tried it vertically ie through a floor).

Thanks, I didn't know they were 1kW max. Last update as far as I know they were 6kW I think. I'll try out your plan :) oh btw baelorack the heavi watt plates just completely don't work.

I think (need to confirm) they are bugged only if you put them vertically, which is what we need most of the time ;)

UPDATE - they were fixed in the recent hotfix:
Hotfix 234175
Low pressure natural gas should be easier to see in the world
Exosuit Dock has increased oxygen capacity
Oil Refinery is now four tiles wide
Polymer Press should no longer run if it runs out of oil to process
Sink should now improve decor
Fixed a crash that could occur when using text input boxes
Fixed a bug where you could grow two plants on top of each other using a Farm Tile in combination with a Planter Box
Clinics no longer limit the range at which you can use a Toilet/Ration Box
Neural Vacillators can now be unassigned
Heavi-Watt Joint Plate should no longer consider itself in an invalid construction location
Increased the cost of Heavi-Watt Tiles
