It has always been the worst option, especially considering you have tons of ethanol at your disposal ...
I'm more than a year into my game and still have like half of the starting 20t tons of wood in the cradle
Seal 67g/s of ethanol minus all that you user to power the lamps
Using wood to make ethanol = heating the map and make Flox to create 50g/s of ethanol minus all to power setup.
I'm not even starting to write about other ♥♥♥♥. All new stuff has huge imbalance and needs to be tweaked a lot.
Only thing that works is Alveo Vera and it still have 2 cycles to grow, which takes ALL time of farmer.
Only way to make power Midgame I see is to use Electrolyzers to get Hydrogen and burn all water you have from all Geyzers and Vents. Which eliminates need of only "working" stuff from DLC - Alveo Veras.
Making slave dups to run manual generator is the way.
