Fetching water from sinks
Advanced research requires water, and the only way to get it is from water bottles from wiping up spills and the pitcher pump.

It would be nice to have the option of bottling water from sinks, similar to the autobottle function on the bottle emptier, I could put a sink next to my research stations or give an alternative spot to pick up water for things like algae terrariums.

But what is wrong in placing a pitcher pump and supercomputer close to each other? That is the easiest way to get water for research.

Creatures who can build a rocket can't fill the bottle at the sink ....

Allowing us to bottle water from a pipe would mean we don't have to keep physical tanks of water. Makes even more sense now that we have reservoirs.

The only thing I can think of is the watter bottle are too big for the sink. They look like the big 5 gallon water bottles.

Easiest way I have found for the time being is to place a small reservoir in the center of the base next to the kitchen and research.

They did just add a gas filler that connects to pipes, maybe they will add a liquid one in a future update.

Because I don't like having a big tank full of water in the middle of my base.

You can have just 2 tiles tank to pump water from it using pitcher pump.

Right, but then I need to either have a third tile for the liquid vent, or some automation from a hydrosensor to a liquid shut off valve so that it doesn't overflow.

Plus any accidents could leak into the supply as well.

It's not a PROBLEM, it's just annoying to deal with.
