Needs a better tutorial
Just bought the game and immediately there are moment of "What I'm I supposed to do?" Needs a better tutorial to guide the player around tasks, objects and GUI

It's not the hand-holding kind of game.

It's a sandbox game, that "What am I supposed to do?" moment is part of the game.

I strongly agree with MightyMarkUK. Who cares if it's a sandbox game. It is super mega complex, and Klei really dropped the ball when they decided they had no interest in teaching people how to player their complex game.

I know there are many folks who hate tutorials, and think they're for idiots who can't learn on their own. I disagree. A game of this complexity needs to have all the mechanics explained with an in-game tutorial.

Shame on you, Klei. I LOVE your games, but you really dropped the ball here.

I think failure as the teacher is a great system. I wonder why out of all my games, this is still the only one I play?

I been at this game awhile and after release the first thing I did was take a look at the guide. It is still missing some entries and the 'tutorial movies' while cute weren't that informative.

I'm sitting around 90 hours in this game and so far I've never really gotten past cycle 300. Some sort of tool that guides new players would be insanely helpful.

90 hours is nothing for this game. I'm almost 400 and am just starting to really feel like I have a decent grasp of most of the game mechanics.

90 hours not enough?!? 400 hours just to grasp the game mechanics?!?

Ok, yikes, apparently this game is definitely not for me then. This game REALLY needs an in depth tutorial. Too bad the devs aren't interested.

The learning curve is steep, but fun. I just feel like the game would be even more fun if you didn't have to go through all of that trouble.

Trial & error is pretty much part of the game, and the UI isn't that hard to understand

Or if you don't want to figure out stuff on your own, you can just watch youtube videos and browse the ONI forums for blueprints & ideas

It's just most of the contraptions and machines you make will be uniqe to you, if there was a guide everyone would just be playing the game the same way. You can always just watch a youtube playthrough and follow what they do, but I feel that kills almost all the magic this game has to offer. with a little more then 300 hours I feel like I"m still finding new and exciting ways to do things I've already done hunderds of times.

I've trial'd lavatories, Carbon Skimmer none seem to work as intended.

I've piped them up correctly according to numerous youtube videos (which have spoiled the game, thanks guys). But the water just stops flowing mid-travel inside the pipe.

i have no idea how/what im doing with wrangling creatures. They seem to just leave them there tied up until they;re not.

im on the 7-8th playthru.

The UI is absolute trash, i wouldve HATE to see it before.

The colonists make cute little noises so theres that i guess.

Try using the "!" at the top left. Try tinkering with the commands on your duplicates on the top right.

Having a tutorial for this game will likely kill your experience on playing the actual game.
