Vacuum heat transfer rant
So I made it to space. I build some robominers and telescopes and I try to keep the heat out so that they don't overheat. But eventually it always gets in one way or another so I figure that maybe if I make my buildings out of another material they would be able to handle the heat. Gold won't cut it, but maybe steel? I mean it is what all the space specific buildings are made of (bunker doors, rockets, etc) so it would make sense. It adds 200 C to the buildning and regolith seems to be around 150 C so it should work...

Turns out regolith is over 300 C when fresh. Well I guess I need to make a more complicaded solution. Thats fine, space shuldn't be easy. So I build a proper cooling system pumping cool liquid through pipes that passes over the buildings that I want to cool. But the heat won't transfer from the pipe to the building. Hmm, seems like the game doesn't think pipes and buildings make contact with each other. Heat normaly goes from the building to the air to the pipe to the liquid.

So I ty to put a tempshift plate behind the pipe. That might be the use for them. No.

So i run the pipes trough metal tiles. Yes it works. The tile gets really cold so it shuld be able to cool the building standing on top of it. Wait what? No it doesn't. For some reason a building does not exchange heat with tiles that it's clearly connected to. What is this klei?

So the only way to cool my buildings in vacuum is to not have a vacuum. I have to run liquid thrugh valves and drip it on the building. This is ridiculus. I'm out. Tell me when you have fixed your game and I'll come back.

This was me maybe a year ago. When the space update was new and the game wasn't released yet. So i thought maybe I shuld wait to full release. So I did. Still they hadn't fixed it. And I checked in now to see if they had, nope.

This really makes the game unplayable to me, guess thats my loss but I know I'm not the only one who have run into this problem. Klei, please, do something.

Is it really that hard? I suggest adding some mounting area parameter to all buildings and use that to calculate heat exchange between the building and the tile. But what do I know.

TLDR: HEAT, SHOULD, GO, FROM BUILDING, TO FLOOR!

Remember having the same issue. It seems that heat exchange for buildings happens only beetween Air or Liquid.

For now I can suggest my solution for space robo-miners:
1. Build 4 tiles and robo-miner on them.
2. Build additional two tiles on the sides of your robo-miner.
3. Build drywall behind miner and fill it with a bit of water.
4. Build radiant pipes behind miner, through water.

Submerged robo-miner will transfer heat to water, and from it to your radiant pipes with coolant (also water).

Or add a suite of heat exchangers and radiators. A tile with copper tubes embedded that is fed from a pipe.
