Popping my ears.
Ear popping has a huge negative effect on stress; far too much. People would never fly if ear popping stressed them out this much.

I think whats happening in game is a little more serious than the popping noise you hear in your ears when you fly. Whats happening in game is that the dupies ear drums are actually rupturing. And that would be extremely painful.

However applying real world logic to it would also mean that those eardrums would not magically heal back to normal under any circumstance short of surgery.

Until you realize that it's just a game, and that while gameplay should mirror reality as much as possible, gameplay should always trump realism.

I agree. That was my point.

AHC-TUALLY, ruptured eardrums do heal on their own naturally within weeks. Although, as said, it is extremely painful.

Like Aerio said, eardrums do heal on their own (I actually had a ruptured eardrum and it IS extremely painful). However, whatever pressure value that currently results in popped eardrums is way too low, as far as I am concerned. If you have any positive oxygen generation at all, your dupes very quickly are running around with popped eardrums, and their stress going off the charts.

From my understanding and experience, the popping of eardrums is 2 fold. 1st depending on where the dupe 1st rupture eardrums healed, that will be used as the base.

2nd, not 100pct sure, but there is a range of around 500-1000g I think of gas difference the dupe can tolerate before it rupture again. So as long as the change between gas pressure is gradual, it would not rupture. But if it is a major change like 1.8k to 3k. They would constantly rupture everytime the dupe pass to that area.

Interesting information ... I was wondering if the only way to prevent it was to wear an exosuit.
I think the introduction of high pressure may require the addition of a pressure overlay later.

i would not argue with this logic

-This is a game
-I know people whos change of preasure is serious deal with them , sometimes serious enough that ambulance has to be called

dont overpreasurise your base , simple as that
