Freezing Eggs?
Is there a way to safely freeze eggs to postpone their hatching?

don't think so

No.

Eggs will hatch in like 40-60 cycles if left alone, no way to stop that incubation progress. However if you really don't want eggs being converted into pets then store them in storage bins, they will break into raw egg instead of a critter.

A critter will always lay 1 egg in their life time, so you could just let the critter walk around and collect it or it's egg when you need it.

Correction, always at normal conditions (which not decreasing metabolism)

This only counts for "tamed" critters, wild ones are not affected by anything.

Wild ones WILL be affected by being in cramped conditions for long, they pause their reproduction. If this takes too much of their life, they might die without reproducing.

Just load them into a storage bin until you're ready, but make sure you don't forget to check on their viability statistic otherwise you'll end up with raw egg instead of critter. IIRC you can postpone if for just under 20 extra cycles if that's your wish.

you can postpone at the cost of viability, not indefinitely - they will eventually break and die
