1. Have all the polluted water from toilets/sinks go through a temperature sensor to check its not below a certain temperature, say 30C.
2. If its below 30C, redirect the water to a refinery. Else, continue to water sieve to be cycled back to toilets/sinks.
3. Have refinery reheat cold water and dump back into water loop fed to toilets/sinks.
4. Excess water from loop should be sent to electrolyzers or plants or whatever you want to use it for.
5. Make sure everything is made of insulated pipe.
So it's actually the obvoius one... keep the outhouses until I can build the tepidizer and insulated pipes.... and maybe replace those snow tiles in my bathroom with something that does not melt.
End excess water to oxidizers sounds good. So my little dupes: Pee to breathe :D
Almost to the top of my to-do list is an insulated bathroom/shower area. That way I can keep the rooms at ~20°C and not have to worry about the water freezing.
Keeping liquid water flowing long-term means your bathroom has to be above ~0 C, even if you insulate the pipes or the entire room from the rest of the environment.
I'm aware, but my dupe labour was stretched thin enough as it was with Manual Generators and everything else. Probably very counterproductive thanks to the stacking up of minor issues caused by Food Poisining, but hey ho.
And that was kinda the point of saying I'd insulate it and raise it to 20°C. How I maintain that is another question, probably just a separate pool of liquid with a Tepidiser that I can pass a loop of water through. That or tapping the volcano above my base.
Bold of you to assume I had a layout. It was 4 Outhouses plonked down somewhere reasonably central and convenient.
Also, Food Poisoning dies off below -25°C. The core base isn't cold enough to kill them off, at least, not before they go and eat. At that point its kinda irrelevant.
First off, I thought it was obvious that 'bold' statement was extremely tongue-in-cheek.
Second, if it was surrounded by sinks/wash basins, food poisoning wouldn't exist, full stop, so again, I thought it was obvious.
What isn't obvious to me is why you'd not bother to set up a working bathroom layout given 250+ cycles.
Then you clearly don't understand the topic...
Was it a mistake? Probably, but hey ho. I nearly have a properly plumbed toilet/shower/hottub/sauna powered by a volcano, I don't really care to correct it anymore.
So your dupes have been suffering from food poisoning for hundreds of cycles because you made a mistake, and you don't really care.
